This is the magnificent artistic period under the rule and influence of Islam, when the Ottoman Empire of the East met the Holy Roman Empire of the West! The results were one of Spain's greatest treasure and the most important religious writing of the Middle Ages - the Beatus Manuscripts The manuscripts designs are in the Mozarabic art style, which unites early Arabic roots of creating intricate patterns with the traditions of Christian manuscripts. They're written in Visigothic Versals. |
