| I was sent to "Schloss Seeburg" in
April/May 1950[I think] for 6 weeks. It was a convalescent home for children which were a bit undernourished and sickly and that would have been most of the children my age then. At that time the castle was used for a holiday home for kids. My teacher, M. Kilian, send me a letter in which she asked me |
| " How are Sigrid and Astrid? Are you playing nicely together?" |
| From that I gather that there must have been at least two more children my age and from my year at school at Schloss Seeburg |
| If anyone reads this and remembers, please |
| My father had aready gone ahead to find work and a flat to live in, which would prove to be nearly impossible at that time. It was 6 years after the war afterall. After we arrived in Offenbach I got to live for a short time with my Aunt Toni Haustein in the Bleichstrasse and started school at the Bleichschule, today it is called Eichendorf Schule, My parent lived with friends which where kind enough to let them stay with them in Bieber. It was Heinie and Hedwig Kurent with daughter Eveline After that we lived in a 'sublet' one room in someone elses flat, sharing all the facilities including the kitchen with the other party. I went to school at the Friedrichs Schule, which today is the Albert Schweitzer Schule, |
| School photo, I think in 1953? 54? Friedrichs School My then best friend Elke Hoffmann is in the first row second from the right, with the ringle Socks and ringle jumper. I am in the last row also the second from the right white collar and 'super' straight fringe. |

| And now we come to the end of my time in Burghausen |
