The
Askiki Preservation Society
Hello and welcome to the official page for the Askiki preservation society. Within the boundries you will find things so strange and fascinating, that your head will explode! Well, just kidding, but you will discover some new facts that will prove to be intriguing and useful.
History
The Askiki tribe thrived mostly in the Austrian Alps in the 1200s, back when much of the area was unexplored and mysterious. In fact, many thought that the mountains were evil and satanic, and that the reason for such things as the violent avalanches were caused by ogres that resided atop the highest peaks. Well, largely they were mistaken. However, a strange breed of primate called the "Mallamous Askiki" did in fact live high in the mountains, and in some respects, they were "evil looking" creatures. They often reached up to 35 ft in height, and sometimes up to 40 ft. in height and over 1 ton in weight!!! However, despite their ferocious appearance (and great strength), they were kind creatures with very little hatred within themselves.
Throughout the next few centuries, a combination of colder climates in the Askiki zones, and growing exploration and settlement of the Alps resulted in a staggeringly high percentage of Askikis being wiped out and, by the late 1700s there were an estimated 12 known to be alive! By the early 1900s all were believed to have been destroyed and only two life forms remained to provide any linkage to them. First, as humans began to inhabit the alpine regions, many of them mated with mallamous Askikis and formed a sort of "mixed breed", and there are several descendants living today in this category. Secondly, the pets of the Askikis, known as "Slikino Monsters", are still bred in the world to this day, but are sold almost exclusively to those aforementioned mix breed askiki-humans. Slikino Monsters are approximately 15ft tall on average, and therefore make awful pets for the average human.
