Tying Tips
Olive Bead Head Flash Back Nymph
1. Put your bead on your hook and secure it, You can do this several ways(ex. super glue, build up thread).
2. Pull off about 7 barbs of hackle and measure with standard Nymph proportions.
3. Tie in the hackle barbs as a tail.
4. Tie in some gold or copper wire.
5. Dub some olive dubbing on your thread and wrap forward to about half the shank.
6. Keep your thread at half shank and wrap your copper wire forward, about 5 wraps should be good, then tie it off don't trim.
7. Tie in some gold flash.
8. Dub some more Olive dubbing on and make sure to dub the thorax alot thicker than the abdomen.
9. Wrap wire forward, 2-3 wraps or so, then tie off and trim.
10. Fold you flash forward to form a wingcase, tie off, but don't trim excess.
11. Fold you excess flash under the body and wrap the thread to keep it down.
12. Whip Finish and apply head cement.
13. Trim the flash(legs) so that it doesn't go lower than the hook point.

1. start your thread about 3/4 way up the shank(where your hackle will start) and then wrap back to about 1/8 inch forward from bend.
2. Tie in gold tinsel or dub on your flash. Follow step 2a or 2b depending on what body your using.
2a. Wrap thread forward to about 1/4 inch before where hackle goes in. Then wrap your gold tinsel forward and tie off.
2b. Wrap you dubbed flash forward to about 1/4 inch before where hackle goes in.
3. Cut off some flash and yellow bucktail so that it measures from where your thread is to about 1/8 to 1/4 inch past hook bend. Tie in the bucktail on top of the flash.
4. Cut off some deer hair and measure a little past the underwing. Tie in and trim excess.
5. Find two good hackles and tie in. Wrap you thread to about 1/8 inch before eye.
6. Wrap 1 hackle forward and tie off where thread is. wrap the second hackle forward and tie off.
7. Trim excess, and then build up a head. Whip finish and cement.
