Children of ParadiseMuslim Orphanage |
My heart is heavy with sorrow and pain thinking about the hundreds and thousands of children in this world who are victims of abuse, injustice, crime, violence and cruelty.
Little girls and boys who are forced to work for a living. Some are forced into child prostitution. And some are just neglected and die because of want of care and attention.
I just can't bear any cruelty or unkindness to children. And I would like to do my best to help any child in any way I can.
On the wall of a paediatrician's clinic, I read these lines which I found extremely inspiring:
"A hundred years from now, it would not matter how much money there was in my bank account or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child."
More than ever, I want to make the dream of building an orphange in India a reality. It was just a few days ago that I heard some news about two children dying of starvation. The details of the story had me weeping and crying and vowing that I would start doing something for children.......without further delay!
The two children who died lived in King County, and guess who was responsible for starving them to death? Their own mother!
The first child was a 15 months old. The CPS (Child Protective Services) people said that they had never seen any child that emaciated!
Tears were rolling down my face.
The second child was just 7 weeks old! Just a baby!!!
And the third child would have died of starvation too, only that he was a little older and therefore able to survive.
I know how it feels when I am hungry. I can go without food for two days, but not more than that.
This was a child! And going without food for a week!!
I imagine how she must have cried and cried. And then dying a slow, painful death.
There are so many other children crying. But who is listening?!
I would like to make a difference in the life of needy children. I would like to build an orphanage in India. The Children of Paradise Muslim Orphanage. Here, children will find safety, security, care and attention. Here, they will be able to live like children are supposed to live. To laugh, play games and have fun. Here they will be taught to use their reason and common sense in finding the Truth. And no child will be forced to become a muslim or embrace Islam.
In order to make my dream a reality, I need your help. I would need a lot of money for this project, and I estimate at least $50,000. Please make a donation for this cause. Your generosity and act of charity will be noted in your Book of Deeds and will definitely help you in the Hereafter.
The Prophet (saws) said : "Give in charity even if it is half a date."
Even a dollar would help.
Thank you.
