GYIBAAW
is an
ABORIGINAL
Death
Metal
band
from
the FROZEN
depths
of
Northern
Canada:
Prince
George,
British
Columbia.
The
meaning
behind
the
name
comes
from
an old
mythological
WOLF
spirit
who
devours
the
souls
of
bastardly
human
FILTH.
This
myth
comes
from
Tsimshian
culture,
which
is the central
focus
of the
band.(The
Tsimshian
are an
Aboriginal
tribe
in
Northern,
British
Columbia).
To
invoke
a
unique,
powerful
atmosphere,
the
band
uses
traditional
ABORIGINAL
melodies,
flutes,
drumming,
and
language.
Gyibaaw
RITUALS
are
performed
by 3
maniacs:
Jeremy
Pahl
(Sinews
of
Aural
Resonance),
Brandon
Dyck
(6
Sinews
of
Strength),
and
Spencer
Greening
(Deadskin
Heartbeat
of the
Earth).
With
the 3
voices
of the
North
Winds
united,
