March 22, 2005 - Guess what day it is!....if you guessed Masonware's second anniversary, you're wrong! Yeah. i missed it by a day. Whatcha gonna do. I don't really have anything for you guys, either, cause i've been preparing for my trip to Europe (i'm leaving on the 24th).
-
in other news, i broke my old mile record by 4 seconds bringing it down to a clean 5:10.

March 13, 2005 - We're coming to the end of year 2 for Masonware. I won't be putting a new game up or anything, but i'll try to do something. Now let's see. How can i take up space by telling you guys about stuff you don't care about?
-
between 2/11 and now, i set a new PR for the mile in track (5:14). i'm trying to break that on friday at my conference meet.
-
on the 24th, i'm leaving to go to europe (prague vienna and budapest) for 10 days with my orchestra, so i won't be around, so you guys'll have to live w/o me (not that you haven't been anyway) ;)
-
today was one of the most boring days of my life. i sat at home, went to church, did homework, and watched tv all day. the most interesting part of my day was when my friend called me to complain about a dead possum that i put on her porch yesterday. and now that i've mentioned it, i guess i'll tell you my story. last night, my friend Will and i went to see a play at the school. my other friend (coincidentally my ex-gf) was at a sleepover at one of her friends houses who lives 2 blocks from will. so me and will got out of the play, and we heard that they were making jello at the sleepover (god knows why) so we stopped by, but they weren't done making it, so we went back to will's house. we played some super mario, and then my friend jake came over and the three of us got a call from my friend at the sleepover saying that they were done w/ the jello, and they were gonna bring some to will's house. so they came over (6 of them) and they told us to close our eyes and they would give us the jello. i could tell this was a bad idea, but we decided to play along. they ended up tying us to chairs and putting make-up on us. they never gave us jello. being the slow-to-anger man that i am, i offered them a ride home, so we crammed 9 people into my dad's toyota camry, and drove them home. we got back to will's, washed off the make-up, and decided to get back at them. totally by chance, me and will had found a dead possum on the block of the house of the sleepover earlier that night, so we drove over there, and Will and jake moved the dead possum onto the porch while i waited to drive them away in the escape vehicle. we drove off and suddenly got a call on my cell phone from my friend saying that they saw the whole thing, and if we moved it back onto the road, they'd give us some jello, so we drove back, moved it off, and guess what? THEY STILL DIDN'T GIVE US JELLO! so i drove home cause it was past my curfue, and i got a call from ellen on the cell, and she was like "our prank easily beat yours. you know why? cause we got you to undo yours w/o us having to pay you anything." i was like no way, so i got off the phone, and waited a little bit for my parents to go to sleep. then i snuck out of my house, and drove to the sleepover, and put the possum back on their porch, and left a note reading "Hey girls! I brought you breakfast!" so around 1 or 2 today i got a call from ellen and she was like "would you mind explaining to me how in the world that possum got back on our porch?" it was pretty funny. last night was so fun.

anyways, after that completely irrelevant story, i'm signing out for the night. see ya guys later.

February 11, 2005 - In one month and 10 days, Masonware will be 2 years old. w00t. It'll be a party. i'll bring the cupcakes. anyways, just thought i'd update. still haven't switched hosts. it's gonna be such a pain in the arse to do, but i sort of have to, unless i find just a file host to link to from here. if you visit the forums, you may already know that i will probably be putting up a couple of movies my friends and i made over the summer. plus, i'm currently writing a script for a new one (possibly our first ever scripted movie), so i'll keep you guys posted.
-
now for something completely different: I won a mile race in my track meet yesterday. i got a 5:27, which is pretty good for a first meet, so i'm pretty happy right now.
-
other than that, i don't really have anything to say. i'm basically updating to let you guys know i'm still alive, even though i'm not doing much masonware-related.

February 3, 2005 - I got my lisence today, so if you live in the chicago area, stay off the roads, cause i'll be causing damage and reeking havoc all around town.

January 20, 2005 - Ahoy. 2 updates in one month. Dang. I'm on a roll. Anyways, not much to say. Girlfriend broke up with me on the 3rd, but I'm doing fine.
-
I've recieved a few games to put up on my website, but unfortunately i'm really low on space, so I think I may be switching to a better host than geocities, perhaps with more than 15 megs to store all my crap on. Also, i need more bandwidth cause i ran out for this month. Oh well. On the bright side, i'll be getting my drivers licence sometime this week, so i can ride around in my mom's sweet minivan and pick up chicks ;)
-
My internet has been farting a lot recently, so sometimes I'm not able to access random websites, so if i sorta dissapear, I still love you guys, it's just that my computer hates me.

January 2, 2005 - Happy new year, all! One of my new years resolutions is to update this site monthly, even if I don't have any major updates, just so it doesn't collect dust and get all those nasty spiderwebs all over it. If you keep up with the message board, you know that I am a little busy right now with lady problems (yes I have a girlfriend) so I won't be working on games at all for at least a week or two, cause i have a few things to sort out in my personal life.

November 30, 2004 - Obviously, not much has happened recently. Due to certain difficulties, production on SFF has been halted (not cancelled). I also removed the guestbook, simply because it was getting too filled up with those damn porno popups, which are too much of a hassle to constantly get rid of, so sorry for the inconvinience, but it's for your own good, kiddies ;-).

June 25, 2004 - Well, I bought the camcorder, and I'm very happy with it. I am going to begin filming animations as soon as I get back from my weekend trip to my grandma's house.

June 23, 2004 - After much annoyance, I got a refund on the camera, and I'm going to buy one from a store tomorrow. I will also try to start filming stuff for SFF (Stick Figure Fighter) tomorrow as well, if I can get the camera up and running. I am also considering making SFF open-source, meaning that I will release it in it's editable form so that other people can learn from it, or change it to their liking, but I haven't finalized that discision. Now that it's summer, I will have more time to work on my game(s). Also, if anyone has any ideas for SFF, please submit them, because I could use some right now.

June 5, 2004 - I am becomming frustrated because the camera I ordered about a month ago has not yet arrived. I need it to continue on Stick Figure Fighter at this point, but I'll wait another week or so before getting really frustrated.

June 1, 2004 - Wow. I went through the entire month of May without updating. Sorry about that. There hasn't been a ton of progress lately, because I have finals coming up. Over the summer, I am thinking of redesigning the website layout, and hopefully making it better. The good news is that I've made the final descision to put the action editor into Stick Figure Fighter.

April 19, 2004 - I have updated the links page with a few more links to check out. Also, there is now a topic in the forum where you can keep up with the most current updates of my project. You can go directly there by clicking here.

April 17, 2004 - I've updated the 2 games pages, and added screenshot thumbnails for all of them (finally). I also encourage you to join the forum, and talk about whatever you want with other people who make games.

March 24, 2004 - A new game has been added to the My Games page. It's based on a calculator game, and is definitely worth playing.
Also, a new link has been added to the links page. It's a site with hamster-based stagecast games.

March 21, 2004 - Masonware has now been around for exactly one year. I made a game that I was going to put up, but my internet connection isn't doing too well right now, so I'll upload it ASAP.

March 4, 2004 - I've added a new link to the links page. Check it out now!

February 16, 2004 - There is now an official web page for the Stagecast Contest! It is http://www.webnetcomorg.com/thanks.php?www.stagecastcontest.8m.com/.
Go there now!

February 12, 2004 - I have finally put up a page about my new game! Check it out at the Current Project page.

February 10, 2004 - FunBiz Games, Electron-soft, Masonware, and some other game companies are planning to host a Stagecast game contest with some fun prizes! Watch this space for more details.

January 28, 2004 - I seem to have encountered a minor bug in my project, so I'll need to sort that out before I present it. Hopefully I'll get it up on the weekend when I have some spare time.

January 25, 2004 - Finals are over! Hurrah!
I was going to make a page showing what I've done on the unannounced game, but my bad computer crashed when I ran the program, so I couldn't. I think I'll show you all tomorrow. You won't really see much of the game itself, but the development stages. The gameplay hasn't been developed at all yet...
...I guess I'll just let you see tomorrow... :-)

January 15, 2004 - Sorry that I haven't been able to update much, lately. I've been studying for finals, but they'll be over after next week.
Ben Adams has produced yet another game! Everyone should look forward to the game maker that he could become in the future. :-)
I will also be releasing information on my new game sometime in the next few weeks.

December 22, 2003 - I've added another game by Ben Adams to the Your Games page. If anyone else would like to see their game up there, just send it to me. Electron-Soft also has a good showcase if you would like to send it there.

December 15, 2003 - By request, I've put up a page where other people can display their games. Check it out, and play Flu 2003! It's a fun new game by Ben Adams. If you would like to see your game on the page, send it to me, and I'll put it up. :-)

December 13, 2003 - I finally got around to getting the new version of 2D Racer onto the games page. Check it out!

December 12, 2003 - I still haven't gotten to put the new version of 2D Racer up yet. I had a relatively large Biology test to study for which (of course) takes priority over the website.
I added a link on the links page which you should definitely check out. It's a new site with some great games.
As I mentioned in the previous update, I have begun work on a major undertaking (at least compared to anything seen on this site). It is only in its early budding stages, but as soon as I feel it is presentable, I will put some info on the site, including some "Making of" articles (the steps taken to create this game are a little more out of the ordinary than any other game I have made).
I also took out the SuperBall, Bomber, and WIP pages (at least for now) because nothing was happening to them for such a long time.

December 4, 2003 - Not much has happened recently, because I've had too much homework (I'm not even supposed to be awake right now, but I felt like updating).
A bit of a confession to make: in it's current state, SuperBall is fairly dead. This is not because of a lack of interest, but because I've learned so much about game creation and programming in Game Maker during the process of creating the game that the stuff made when I first started is now basically uneditable without a lot of work. Never fear, though. When I'm finished with my current project (yet to be revealed; it's a biggie!), I may completely start over with SuperBall which, in the end, would make the game so much better than if I kept it how it is now.
On a better note, I've updated 2D Racer, fixed some (major) bugs, and improved the music and gameplay. I hope to have it uploaded by tomorrow, so be sure to check it out!

November 7, 2003 - I added a program to the games page a few days ago that allows you to create your own quiz about whatever you want!

October 12, 2003 - I added a new game today. It's the sequel to 3D Racer (contrary to what the title may imply). So, have fun! You can download it on the games page.

October 1, 2003 - Hello again. The german exchange student left today, and I'll try to fit more time in for games. I have begun work on a new game. That's all I'll say for now, though. I may start hosting games for people that need a place to put them. Of course, if I ran out of space, they may need to come down, or I could start another site entirely for them. Who knows? So if you need a place for your game, and you don't have a website of your own, I can try to put it on the site. I get lots o' hits. ;-)
As I said before, my schedule is busy. Between school, cross-country, and homework, I'm left with barely any time, so expect slow progress, but I will still squeeze in as much as possible. :-)

September 24, 2003 - As I mentioned a long time ago, there is now a german exchange student at my house, so computer access has been limited. I recently got a new computer, and that's where I plan to do most game making (partially because I found out today that Game Maker doesn't work on my old one!). My old computer is now so bad that I can't even restart it...I hate it...rar..
With high school starting up, my schedule has been extremely busy. I don't think I will have much time at all to work on games, but I try to squeeze it in whenever I can (like now, at 11:10 pm).
I don't have much else to say, so I'm going to bed.

September 8, 2003 - Sorry about my absence. I had no internet access for a while. While I was off, I made a new game which can be found on the games page.

August 21, 2003 - The SuperBall demo has been released! You can get it on the SuperBall page. Please email me, or go to the message board with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. :-)

August 19, 2003 - I have some good news: I am planning no more SuperBall screenshots. Okay, okay. You thought I had good news. I do: instead of screenshots, I'll be releasing a playable demo of a test level to give all of you a good feel for the game. I still have to work with the file size and stuff, but be expecting it sometime soon. :-)
After a long break, it feels good to get back to Masonware.

August 12, 2003 - Oh, my. I'm sorry to everyone and anyone (or noone) who's waited for any updates and has been dissapointed. I don't want to get into a habbit of only monthly updates. I've been out of town for a while. I hope to get some new stuff up this time (I really mean it!). Just wait a couple of weeks. I'll try to spend more time with Masonware. My birthday was on the 4th! I'm 15! :-)
SuperBall still needs bosses and levels (yes, I have yet to make levels), but they should come together pretty quickly if I work at it. In about a month, an exchange student will be at my house for 2 weeks, so I may not be active with Masonware during that time.
I've been thinking about putting up some competitions on the site. Not to put anybody down for not winning, but because a little competition helps you push yourself more. (and because Geocities only offers 15 megs of space which would be used up in a jiffy if I had a showcase) ;-)
Again, I apoligize to everyone for not being here as much. I forget things a lot, and sometimes I procrastinate so much that things never get done. I've really got to work at that.

July 19, 2003 - Well, I never did get those screenshots up. I've been at summer school (yuk!). Luckily it ends on wednesday. I have lots of enemies in SuperBall, but I need bosses, levels, and a few more powers. If I work hard, it will be done soon, but knowing me, it will probably be done around Octobor or November.

June 29, 2003 - Sorry for less updates. Screenshots are coming soon. There should be more than usual. Just be patient. Not much Bomber progress. I've been working more on SuperBall, and have been kind of busy learning how to use Anim8or. It's a free 3D modeling and animation program. It's very nice. I think I will be adding a page to show some models that I've made. All this should come in July.

June 17, 2003 - Yup! I updated the URL again. Now it's just www.masonware.tk. Nice and simple.

June 9, 2003 - SuperBall is behind schedule. It should be released late summer-fall. New screenshots of the game should be up soon, as well as the first Bomber shots, hopefully within the month.

June 3, 2003 - Well, the message board has been a bit more active, lately. It won't be coming down. It seems my guestbook's site is not responding, though (at least on my computer). Oh well. On the games page, Evil's Revenge has been updated to an editable version because it has been out for a while, and now everyone can see how it was made.

June 1, 2003 - Sorry for the lack of updates, lately. Game progress has basically halted until school gets out (Wednesday). As you probably know, the Masonware message board is extremely active. If there are no objections, or new posts on the board in a week, I'll remove it.

May 19, 2003 - I added a message board for anyone who has something that they would like to talk about with other game makers.

May 11, 2003 - New Masonware URL: masonware.tsx.org. There's an extra pop-up or so on the first page, but it's a lot easier to remember. (You can still access the page from the original address (www.mryip500/index)).

May 6, 2003 - Game progress for all games has slowed due to lack of ideas...hint hint...

May 5, 2003 - Added entry to Site Updates page.

May 2, 2003 - Added Guestbook page.

April 26, 2003 - There is a new Game Maker game on the Games page. The reason it was never on the WIP page is because I made it in 2 days.

April 21, 2003 - New SuperBall screenshots!

April 20, 2003 - HAPPY EASTER!!! I updated the text on the homepage. Wow. It's late, but I don't have school tomorrow (Easter Monday. Just don't ask.)

April 18, 2003 - Added Bomber page.

April 17, 2003 - I am working to get some new pages up. I hope that by the end of this month, I will have a page about Bomber, and hopefully the "About Creator" and "About Game Maker" pages.

April 12, 2003 - I added a new link to the links page. It's not related to Game Making, but it's for a game company that I like.

April 7, 2003 - Added a picture on the SuperBall page. It's kind of low quality, though, so bear with me 'till I can fix that.

April 5, 2003 - Added Site Map page, and added another batch of SuperBall screenshots.

March 30, 2003 Added SuperBall section, and remove the two About sections. I hope to have them back up here soon. I also re-did the whole site by manually making the html code. It didn't change much now, but it should help in the future.

March 21, 2003 Grand Opening!!! Programlari Ugas
