For those at Club Obi-Wan on the IndyGear website who have often heard my cries of dismay and disdain over my Peters Bros PI, you may be interested to know that I have recently acquired a superior lid in all respects. Rundquist, experienced fedora buyer and the first forum member to purchase the amazing Optimo fedora, recently passed on his Akubra Federation to me, and it is an amazing fedora in all respects. It is extremely durable, attested to by my close friend MK, who usually sells his hats to acquire new ones, but he has kept his Federation and carrys it with him into the desert every few months, and it still looks awesome.
This hat has a rich brown color that looks better when it ages and fades! It comes unbashed, allowing one to mold it to the film of their liking. I paid $185 smacks for the PI that was always uncomfortable, never fit right, never looked good, and ultimately turned green! Enjoy the comparison photos that follow.
