I am 17 and bought this car last as a basketcase.This car stated life as a premier but I removed excess trim and installed window louvers.This car has a straight 98% rust free body as it was from california.Being that I live in the rust belt these cars are very hard to find in good condition.Which is why I don't drive it in the winter.I plan on installing a built 340 in it this spring to give the 5.0 Rustang owners something to be nervous about.I am glad to see F body Mopars are gaining popularity because they KICK ASS!!!!!!

Originally had a 4 on the floor but the wife wanted an automatic....soooooo: Had the automatic putin fron the rusted-out '77, replaced the steering column, drive shaft, radiator, carb, and intake manifold. Bypassed the OSAC valve, and modified the operati n of the hot air intake to reduce the hesitaion. THEREFORE: This vehicle now is the only 1980 super six on the road and has an automatic with a 3.21:1 rear (autos generally come with a 2.77 rear). Between that and the emmissions modifications and the fact that it is just getting broken in with 180,000 miles on it, I might just brag that the old girl is pretty fast! Anyway, it gets the kids around town. By the way, I'll never let the kids drive it!

I bought this car with most of the mods already done. It had been converted to pure drag w a 440, but the it was retired and brought back to a 360. i have no idea where the original 318 is, nor do I want to look. I love my big small block. it is a 3 speed with a hurst shifter mounted on the floor, fun to drive, but not near as fast as I want it to be. It used to be a granny mobile with a slant six out of a 73 Dodge dart.The slanty was tired with a mear 300,000+ miles on it. So I aquired a 71' 360 block had it bored .080 over, threw in Arp goodies, forged pistons, rods reworked, a 274/480 purple cam, co p cams lifters, ported and polished heads, Hooker Comp. headers, single plane intake w/ 750 double pumper, and a remote oil filter kit. Trani is stock with a high stall converter, the rear end is a 8 3/4 out if a 66 Plymouth Belvedere,w/3.23 limited slip. The car was tan on tan, now its Black with a plum crazy super bee stripe, six pack hood scoop, rear spoiler, tinted windows. Im under going an experimental intake now that will be a 1500+cfm fuel inj. unit. It might be a MPI six pack or a twin tuneport setup, it all depends on what i aguire these next few months.

Thanks for the site. My Aspen is a street/strip car. it has a .030 over 440 w/346 heads(ported/polished,2.14/1.81 valves). .640 roller cam. CPPA 2" w/3"collecters,with 3" exhaust. 727 trans with man. valve body,Turbo Action "J" conveter(4800 stall). 8 3/4 b-body rear end w/4. 0 gears. The car has full interior(minus the heater core and duct work). The car has the frame tied and a 6pt. rollbar. The car went [email protected] back in 94. The car has been down for the last 5 yrs. (new paint,refreshed the motor). It will be back on the oad next month(sept.), I hope to go 10.90's on the new set up. Jason has posted a picture of it on this site. Thanks again.

Greetings! After a lengthy absence, my car is back on the road. Several years ago I listed my car with the club, and promptly disappeared. But, the bodywork is done and the car is running again. The R/T parts were 'donated' from another '77 Aspen that my brother owned & trashed, while the 318 engine, which I freshened up with new seals & bearings, was out of another '77 Aspen 4dr SE. As far as performance parts goes, I've limited it to fairly ba ic things. A four barrel Carter Thermo-bog carb, 727 tranny, & dual exhaust to 360 manifolds is about the extent of it. I did the body work myself, and not being a professional, there are quite a few ripples in it, but its finally back on the road. If y u can't yet see my _aspen.html, keep trying, I'll have it up shortly.

This is numbers matching 1978 Aspen Street Kit Car one of only 152(?) made. All fender/VIN codes check out. "Police Special" E58-360 (mostly original) under the hood with Edelbrock 600 4bbl (for better MPG), fuel pump upgrade, oil pump upgrade, and Petty lue accents. All original flares are intact as well as the rear deck Kit Car adjustable spoiler. I am missing the front "chin" spoiler and want/need it badly! The hood scoop (Not original) gobbles up rocks, birds, low-flying planes, and Mustangs! Original 8X15 Argent Silver rims all around (the 8" rims went out of production in 1985 or so). It has sway bars front and rear and 727 auto tranny with 3:21 sure grip. Inside it's treated with buckets, center console, big tach on the steering column, and extra gu ges for oil press., temp, and battery amps. The body is rust-free (enthusiasts have owned it since it was special ordered) and just needs a good paint job.

Bought this car in southern P.A. 5 years ago for $900.00 with only 84,000 miles. With all spoilers and original equipment intact. Since then I have drove it another 16,000 miles. I have done modifications while keeping all the original eq. I change the motor to a 360. It is 10/1 comp.-purple cam-headers-orange box ignition-340 intake-750 holley-a REAL mopar 4 speed and a rear sway bar. Options are am/fm 8 track-tuff wheel-rear defrost-clock P.S. anybody trying to make a 4speed aspen perf rm change the O.D. tranny to a old a-body tranny.It helps the O.D. tranny has bad gearing unless you want highway hauler.

I am 17, and this is my first car. I only paid $550 for it, at a repo yard. It only has 92,000 miles on it. It is in excellent condition. I can now say I have the best car in my family, and possibly in Riverside. It has no problem passing california mog checks. I have all the original hupcaps! I saw 4 Volares and Aspens at the local junkyard, which is great for me and other owners. I picked up an alternator, an original radio, disrtibuter cap, and Plymouth and volare insignias there. Yanked the straight-6 out and Dropped in a 360, and an overbuilt TF727. I replaced the rear end with an 8-1/4 from a Grand Fury. Edelbrock Performer manifold and 650 carb. BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW. MODIFIED IT IN 1979. ENGINE IS AN OLD NASCAR RACE ENGINE. BALANCED & BLUPRINTED. ORIGINAL INTERIOR AND PAINT. CAR HAS 71000 ORIGINAL MILES. BEST E.T. WAS 11.91 BACK IN 1980. THIS CAR WAS QUITE A PROJECT IN 79 BECAUSE AT THAT TIME NO I FO WAS AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE THE ENGINE SWAP. IT WAS A LOT OF FUN THOUGH AND I STILL HAVE A GREAT TIME SHOWING THE MUSTANG AND CAMARO CROWD WHAT A MUSCLE CAR IS ALL ABOUT. Car is going thru an extensive body rehab at this time(1999). When this is done, the engine/tranny will be refreshed with KB 107 pistons, Edelbrock heads, 528/284 cam, etc. "Rollin Thunder" sports an 8 3/4 rear with 430 sure grip along with a 727. The urrent motor (simular to above except the heads are '71 J heads) has tons of power and hooking up is a major problem even with P265/60 tires out back. This car originally was a bare bones R/T Sport Pak. Outside the items that came with the R/T Sport Pak ge(318 v8, 904, ps, pdb, hd suspention, spoilers and flares), the only factory options were intermitent wipers and the Spectrum interior. This is a NO radio car. I have owned this car since 1982 and it has 85,000 miles on it.

After owning a 75 valiant and a 75 dart [both customs] I was looking for somthing with a slant 6 ,when I came upon a 78 dodge aspen for 2200.00.It was a little more than I wanted to spend but was told it only had 62,000 miles on it. [was hoping to find an ther 75 valiant] This car was owned by an 88 year old woman . The car actually had 46,000 miles on it ,which sturred my interest even more. After test drive I was sold ,the only thing remaining was how much? The owner said she would give me a good price b cause she liked me ,she said 1500.00 ,I was thinking more like 1000.00 [because car had some serious rust issues to deal with ] we settled at 1200.00 . After getting car home discovered K- member was rusty on drivers side of car . [Seems to be sore spot w th these cars ] Its still solid enough to drive but Im keeping an eye on it.Besides all the rust problems Ilove the way the runs and hope to find rust free wagon[aspen or volare or possible diplomat] with super six in the near future.

This is one of about 33 Mb5 blue roarunners. It has 56,000 miles on it. It had a ground up restorationon done to it. Was feautured in Mopars collectors guide Dec 97 issue. The car is a pleasure to drive , but gets trailed to far events. Ps, pb, tinted gla s, am/fm, locking gas cap, deluxe trunk carpet opition, light group, a57 options etc. The only nos part i couldn't find was the left door weatherstriping. I'm 17 and I wanted a fast car so I bought the aspen 'cause it looked light. It came with a Slant6/904. Last week I dropped in a 360/727. The car keeps it's original rear end, but it still keeps up with a '90 mustang cobra and a '76 vette stingray that my buddy owns. The vette beat me, but that should change once I put the four barrel on it and someday down the road I wanna get a better rear end.
