AKC Krusin' Kanines
Did gravity lose its hold and Joyce fell off the planet?
Did the aliens finally come and abduct her?
Did Joyce go off and offer sacrifices to the Volcano God?
Nope.
Joyce simply and plainly passed out each of the weekend nights, thus the reason for the late edition of
Team Bean.
Everything is still
moving along in Mikie Land, House Hunting Land, and Everything Else Land. I
really cannot complain.
I know I have touched on
my beginning research into Crumpies Pedigree in last weeks Beanhead email.
This weekend, I am happy to report that with some across the country support, I
have been able to trace Crumpies Ped back to a healthy 8 generations (roughly
the 1960s.) I can trace one line into the eleventh generation and a few others
into the ninth and tenth.
One person has made a
generous offer of send the list of names.and I mean the LIST. Honestly, I
think this woman is nuts because my list of names is about forty long, but the
from the heart offered help is truly appreciated. There is also another woman
who is helping me out and from what the three of us have pulled together, I have
learned a great deal.not to mention am impressed.
I finally did get the
name that I was missing from the fourth generation and a huge door opened. My
god, the nifty things you find THAT far back.
The good thing is that I
have finally gotten everything together into a neat little Excel spreadsheet.
If I tape all seventeen sheets together, Little Crumpies Family Tree will be
set up for easy viewing. : 0 Well, at least this replaces the poster board that
is currently taken up space on my living room floor.
Will keep you guys posted
on the progress because this whole thing is just way too much fun.
As for the weekend, I
think that most of the people we hung out with this past weekend, had beyond
great runs. Congrats to all of you from Bar Knocking Crumpie and myself. : )
Since I am late in typing
this up and I have ten runs to type about, I am going to change the format this
time around. The weekend was a sensory over-load and draining time, but I did
have a ton of fun. Who can complain about that?
Susie and I decided to
enter both Fred and Harry in this past weekends events. Although we had
decided to retire Fred at the end of last year, I was presented with some
information about jumping and realized more then a few things about Fred. (This
is the same jumping training that I started with Crumpie last Monday). After
working with Crumpie all week, I cannot wait to try this new training out on
Fred.
The only problem with
running the boys is that I have not really been working them. The three of us
were going to run basically cold and this was going to be interesting.
Susie had also entered
Beamer, one of her bitches that she has been working specifically for her to
run. Beamer is just as fast as the boys, but runs completely different then
they do, giving Susie the advantage of keeping up.
Crumpet on the other hand
was a complete ass. Most of the males were because at some point (recently)
there had been a bitch in heat on the field. (Could have been a neighbor who
walked their dog through the park or it could have been an exhibitor. We will
think positive and say it was a neighbor dog.) This is not a complaint, but an
UNDERSTANDING of what I was dealing with.
In the Order That I Ran Them
Saturday
Novice B Standard Fred & Harry
Fred and Harry were super
awesome. Both were so tuned into me that it was not even funny and that was
something that I have lacked. There were no games played, only running for the
pure fun of it. I just had to remember to be as clear as possible and to run
with confidence.be the team leader.
Harry had to jump off of the Tip like he normally does, but did the fastest Down on the Table. : )
Fred only knocked TWO bars. (one of which was I believe my fault.turned those shoulders to fast.)
Harry NQ
Fred - NQ
Novice B Jumpers Harry
I only run Harry in
Jumpers because of Freds horrible jumping (soon to be helped.) Harry was
already wired for sound, but I was about to find out exactly how tightly wrapped
he was.
Oh my gosh..not kidding, I basically stood in the middle of the ring and called right, jump,
left, jump, bla, bla, bla. I could not keep up with this dog and did some
handling techniques that I use with Crumpie. Harry flew through the course, got
slightly hung up in the Poles, but finished the course just the way I like
it.
.Fun, Fast, Furious, and First Place.
Q and a 1st place.
Excellent A Standard Crumpet
Good old reliable Crumpie.
What are the Four things he can be relied on to do?
Tunnel Mong THREE times.
Knock one bar.
Jump the DW Contact.
Refuse the Weave poles.
To say I was not happy is
an understatement, but he did accomplish a Personal Q. When we came over the
finish line, I flatly gave him the lay down. The horror and shock was
absolutely incredible. I picked him up and walked seven feet out of the ring.
This was his signal of bad doggie, but once he was one the ground he got a ton
of praise for running. Perhaps I mix signals, but Crumpie knows that I never
pick him up unless I am unhappy. I wanted to send the signal fast and follow it
with something positive so that I did kill his motivation. Some how it works.
NQ
Still battling with Oh I am such a Male Dog, LOOK at MEEEEEE, but Crumpie and I had a great run. The
thing that NQed us????
Ready???
Bars all stayed up, Crumpie compensated for Mommy Beanhead (who almost sent him off course twice), and he got the Poles.
A FREAKIN YUMMY WRONG END OF A TUNNEL.
ARUGH!!!!!!!!!
NQ
So at least I can Q with a dog.
Sunday
Novice B Standard Fred & Harry
Once again, Fred and Harry did an awesome job of working with me. : )
Freddy did have some fun
with a tunnel, jumped off the Tip, with the Ring and the Table, but for the most
part he was cool about it.
Harry had this gorgeous
opening and then jumped off of the Tip once again. He incurred a refusal and
off-course because I was a dork and stepped to far around a blocking jump.
Freddy NQ
Harry NQ
Novice B Jumpers Harry
This was a promise of a
good course, but also that of a tricky one. Harry and I made it around the ring
and then Harry just had to take the yummy tunnel. It probably would have helped
if I called Come instead of Here, but hey you run as fast as we were and
command words get jumbled.
A Tunnel off-course, a Jump off-course (and dropped bar) for an NQ.
Excellent A Standard Crumpet
Still battling for
Crumpies attention we hit the course. Mind you, when I was walking the course
I thought every bar would come down. Angles here, angles there.angles, angles,
angles.
Sigh.
We go. The poles are set
once again for a left weave and I elected to drop the left and call here.
It works, but Crumpie almost misses the weave entry. Refusal.
He stops and I have to
coax him through to get started. We fly, we haul, we jump the DW contact.
Crumpie and I are
completely a teamlike normal. He handles everything with determination and
focus and pulls off some sick handling, but it is an NQing run.
All of the bars STAYED up.
I later checked his
time. 51.90. Okie Fadokie.oh my godhe has the FASTEST time for the entire A
class (12, 16, 20, and 24 classes) and the fifth fastest time for ALL jump
heights A & B. (all from the 24th B class and three of them being
Border Collies.)
If I thought that Harrys
Jumpers run from the day before was smoken you can only imagine what this one
was for me.and add in the contact equipment.
Excellent A Jumpers Crumpet
This course had some
pretty wacky areas, but the goof up at the beginning was totally on me. One
refusal for a run around the jump (I once again moved my shoulder too fast and
caused Crumpie to cut an angle I did not want him to) and we were off to a
great start. Crumpie flew through this course and let me do another front
cross (I have been doing a lot of these all of a sudden). We plainly had a
great time and we comfortable to be back in the status of Beanhead and his
Mommy.
NQ
For those who know..
(Diane there were so many people from the club there that did so well that I had a hard time keeping track
of all of the Qs. There were a few I remembered)
Elaine & Nan 3rd place Qed for their Open Jumpers Title!!!!!! Hooray.
Susie & Beamer had TWO AWESOME runs, only one resulting in a 2nd place Q for a first leg. : )
Susies Harry 1st place Qed for a second leg.
Sally & Bear 1st place Qed in Novice Standard for a first leg.
Karen & Skeena Qed in both Novice Jumpers and N Standard for their First legs in each. Forgive me, as
I cannot remember what the placements were. (I am pretty sure that one was a 1st place.)
There were a few other Qs, but I am sorry, they were new to the club and I have not really met them.
So in a nutshell, that was the whole weekend.
Crumpie and I truly hope that you all had a great one too. We are sorry that we are late getting this
out to all of you.
Have a great week. This upcoming weekend yields Conformation & Obedience. Unfortunately, both are
scheduled one right on top of the other. Obedience takes precedence(in my head), but I am disappointed, but like Crumpie is going to take Breed?
Stranger things have happenedchoose obedience.
Type to you all about it. : 0
