Information on cities/places

Ljubljana
The capital; full of pleasant picturesque places where a visitor can expect many nice surprises. Ljubljana is a city of culture and rich historical legacy. Apart from the remains of the Roman Emona, it boasts a medieval castle and numerous old city centre Baroque buildings with uneven roofs and richly decorated faades and portals. The mosaic of Ljubljana is completed by picturesque bridges across the Ljubljanica river and the vast Tivoli park, which extends to the very city centre.
Dolenjska
Winegrowing hills and small churches, castles and mighty forests give the extensive region of southeastern Slovenia a very picturesque appearance. The capital of the region is Novo mesto. It is situated in the midst of this hilly landscape, embraced by the Krka River. Abundance of nature, tradition and culture can be a real experience for every visitor.
Gorenjska
This is a region of high rocky mountains, deeply cut river gorges, high-mountain karst shafts, and attractive low mountains as well as beautiful alpine resorts Bled and Kranjska Gora. Bled is famous for its idyllic lake and island guarded by its mysterious medieval cliff-top castle; Kranjska Gora is a popular ski and summer resort surrounded by magnificent mountains with the worlds largest ski jump located in the vicinity.
Nova Gorica
The youngest town of Slovenia, situated right at the boarder with Italy. The younger sister of the Italian Goriza was founded only after the World War II, but has developed rapidly and can nowadays be called Las Vegas in small.
Piran
One of the pearls among Slovenian towns lies at the end of the Piran peninsula. The original settlement was primarily used as a lighthouse for vessels sailing to nearby Greek colony Aegida. Today, Piran is more than just a small port; it is one of the top destinations among tourists, especially due to Tartini Square and relaxed atmosphere in the town. And one last thing: it is known as the town where everybody falls in love.
