Characters
Any Dark Elf, or associate, slave, hireling may join the stone.
There is no limitation on "alignments", though it is
preferred that players play Dark Elves who reflect some of the
basic Dark Elf cultural norms. Drow that were in QVI make up the
bulk of initial Dark Elf members. Some characters were in the
Veldrin Shyline, the Crimson Alliance or even in the old Dark
Rychen. Characters that are slaves, hirelings, spies,
friends, allies, enemies, summoned minions, drow hunters or any
other role-played character that has some association with a Dark
Elf are welcome to join.
We will accept any dark elf of any faith. Dark elves on Catskills
have worshipped a large number of different gods/goddesses; all
are welcome (within reason) on the stone. Some of our
characters have strong preconceptions about the nature of the
world and religion, again that is something that will be worked
out in game. Without a House to enforce certain beliefs anything
is possible (again, within reason).
In order to join, you must have some contact in game with at least
one other IDE character. That player will pass on a request
to sponsor the character to the stone. Some discussion
and/or "watching" of your character will be required by
current members before your character is allowed on the stone.
The stone is ooc, meaning that, though you must come to the stone
to be accepted, it does not exist in game for any IC reason; i.e.
the stone master will probably be hidden while your character is
accepted to the stone. Characters on the IDE stone must be
relatively independent and Houseless. For those seeking an
opportunity to play in a more tradition Drow House structure, it
is suggested that they check out Qu'ellar
Lassrinnus Venorik.
Cookie-cutter "drizz'ts" need not apply. If you
decide to play a "good" (ethically and morally speaking)
dark elf then at least invest your character in some interesting
traits. Bear in mind, that, unless your character was raised
by humans, he or she will posses, what most surface Sosarians see
as, an "evil" outlook on life. If your character
became "good" after leaving the Underdark, it is
doubtful that he or she will ever become paladin material; culture
is a very difficult thing to shake off.
