It all started on January 30, 1987, when this wonderful being was born unto the world. Her parents, Brian and Cathy, agreed to call her Miranda after the daughter in the Shakesperian play, "The Tempest." Her older brother, and only sibling at the time, Monty agreed. He was barely 12 and blind (but that's not very important to this story). So up she grew, and by the time she was 5, Monty had moved to Vancouver to attend BCIT and she had a sister named Becky, who was 4. She started Kindergarten at St. Mary's in Cranbrook, and met a whole bunch of friends, her best being Rachel. In grade 1 she met Amanda. In grade 3, she met Alison and Michelle. In grade 4 she met Laura. At the end of grade 4, Rachel moved to Kelowna, and they haven't really talked since. But Laura quickly filled her spot, and they were truly best friends! In grade 6, Tracey came along. She was quickly into her group of friends. (Due to requests, I have more information regarding Tracey). Tracey is a brown-haired blue-eyed miracle. She is one of my best friends. Yeah, she's cool...back to my story...Everyone was having a great time, until Laura announced she'd be moving to Regina! It was probably the saddest moment in Miranda's life. Devestating. So Laura moved, and everyone separated and went to either Laurie Jr. Secondary, or Parkland. Only Michelle came with Miranda to Laurie. But soon after, Michelle found a new group of friends with the basketball players. But they're still friends! Right away Miranda met Sarah. During Spring Break, Miranda's family went on a trip to Lethbridge. The song "Drive" was commonly played on the radio, and Miranda loved it! But she convinced herself not to get the CD it was on, because she thought that "rap" was the right music for her...Everyone hung out all the time, it was so much fun!!! Then, Laura came that summer, and they went camping at Kootenay Lake and met this guy Jeff. He was sooo hot!!! But in the end, he liked her sister. So they moved on. But then, that winter Miranda went to visit Laura in freezing Regina. They spent a lot of time playing boardgames and watching movies. They went to the mall a bit, and saw "Riding in Cars with Boys." It was soooo much fun, but absolutely freezing! That summer, all of Miranada's friends excluding Amanda and a new friend Brittany went camping at Moyie (Moy-ay) Lake. Brittany's best friend, Laryn, came too. It was so much fun! They all shared one tent and were completely independent from her parents who were just next door...A couple days after the camping trip was over, Laura came to visit for a week. They spent time bumming around Cranbrook, and again went camping at Kootenay Lake. This time, there was no Jeff. Laura slowly got Miranda interested in punk music, namely AFI. Since she was not notified of the time-change at the airport, Laura missed her flight home and got to stay another day. Miranda's parents were planning to take her to get something for a "graduating-grade-nine" present. Laura came too. She picked out a few things including the CD Morning View by Incubus. When they got home Laura and her played Nintendo while they listened to her new CD. It was great! After Laura left, Miranda listened to Incubus non-stop, and while they were in Vancouver for their family-summer holiday, Miranda bought the CD Make Yourself. From there, the new-found obsession with Incubus spun out of control. Which brings us to today. With this site, Miranda communicates her love for any and all things Incubus. Recently, at Christmas she recieved S.C.I.E.N.C.E. from her friend Tracey, and Fungus Amongus signed by all 5 members and an original release from Santa! Then with money from Christmas she bought the Morning View Sessions DVD and the poster that is all colourful and shows the mansion. For her 16th birthday she got the Morning After View Sessions DVD/CD and the When Incubus Attacks Vol. 2 DVD! On April 24th Miranda recieved her awesome Incubus blacklight poster. It was great! When Miranda finished her 3rd and last year at Laurie Jr Secondary, grade 10, her parents gave her an awesome blue sparkly Incubus key chain!! Bad news hit Miranda on August 8th when she returned from a camping trip. On August 6th her cat, Harvey, who was staying at a kennel, had ran away due to an open door and an open window. Miranda has yet to have seen Harvey and is anxiously waiting her safe return. On Aug. 27th, Miranda and her family took a trip to Calgary, Alb to do a little school shopping. During their last time there, they found a t-shirt shop that specialised in band t-shirts, but it was closed. Naturally, they went there this time. Inside, Miranda was overwhelmed by the trillions upon trillions of t-shirts. Miranda asked for help and discovered the Incubus tees. The men's were much too big, so the man showed her the smaller sizes for girls. She found two that fit and now Miranda proudly owns two Incubus t-shirts! On Oct. 27/03, after waiting 20 long days, Miranda finally received the Incubus t-shirt she thought she had lost forever when it left HotTopic. But, she found it and won it on Ebay. She is very excited that she now owns three Incubus shirts. For Christmas 2003 Miranda recieved the wonderful White Fluffy Clouds by Brandon...Stay tuned for more on Miranda's journey through her life and the likes of Incubus.... |
