Sunset at Lake Ogawahara. We camped here at the end of the first day of the tour. This lake is right next to Misawa City.
On Route 394 and checking that we were still on the right track on second day up in the Mt Hokkoda region in Aomori Prefecture. We had just climbed and come down a little from the horrid stretch from Shichinohe. We still had more climbing ahead of us, but at least the worst of it was over.

The three of us in Minase Village in Akita Prefecture. This picture was taken on Route 398 on our way to Hanayama Village in Miyagi Prefecture. This particular stretch of road passed through some very beautifully forested mountains and there wasn't much traffic either.
