FINAL FANTASY VIII
=====================================================================
Final Fantasy VIII...what can I say about this one...?
I loved it. Most people hate it because it is a love story, but I don't think that it detracts much. In the opening movie, we see Squall and Seifer practicing (well, it started as practice) their gunblade skill. Charging in, Squall gets hit by Seifer's Limit Break, Fire Cross: No Mercy, and Squall gets knocked on his derrier. Seifer takes this time to give Squall his then trademark scar. Raging back, his strike hits home and he gives Seifer one to remember. Squall wakes up and gets his talking too. Things to remember: save immediatly, or else you have to go through the opening scene again.
If you take note, throughout the game, Squall and Seifer are exact opposites and equals: in cards, their numbers are equal wherever you put them; their scars go in opposite directions. Squall is good, Seifer is evil. But enough about that.
Whichever way you slice it, I think this game is good, so too bad. It has a few oddities, though. The first big thing that struck me as odd was the fact the there is no MP!!! I was genuinely dumbfounded when I saw this. But overall, it didn't matter much. One thing I absolutely love, and I'm sure you will too, is Triple Triad, the card game. It made the a difference, especially when I need rare items. Either way, this was a good game. And again, to all those who hated this game for the love story undertone, TOO BAD!
