WORD - PROCESSING IN MICROSOFT WORD FOR WINDOWS 7.0


 

Introduction

This lesson would help students to learn about word-processing in Microsoft Word for Windows 7.0. Therefore acquiring basic foundation such familiarizing peers with Microsoft Word for Windows 7.0, creating a basic document, formatting function, and editing. Finally Students would demonstrate the basic and advance word processing techniques in Microsoft Word.   .

 

Subject and Grade level: GRADE LEVEL 11

Lesson Goals

·        To familirize students with Word - processing in Microsoft word for Windows 7.0

·        To learn to formatt, edit and create a basic document in Microsoft Word.

·        To demostrate advance Word - processing techniquies in Microsoft Word.

Content Objectives

¨      Students will learn how to switch on the system and load Microsoft Word

¨      Students will learn about creating, format and edit a new document.

¨      Students will also learn about loading printer with paper and print a copy of their document.

Performance Objectives

§        Students will use power point to present their work in the class.

§        Students will use in animate object to illustrate their work on paper.

Technology Objectives

§        Students will use one of the search Engine on the Internet to search for more information on Word - Processing in Microsoft Word, and formatting functions.

§        Students will demostrate the result of their search ability in solving a problem in Microsoft Word .

§        Peers will use Power Point to present their work in class room.

Instructional Activities (teacher component)
I will Prepare a comprehensive lesson plan before the class, determine the technology best for teaching the lesson, determine the time frame for my lesson and make sure all the system are working perfectly before I begin my lesson. I will create a folder where each groups students will submit their work.  Students will be advice to save their work every 5 minutes in case there is a power failure.

Learning Activities (student component)
Students will be learning how to search for information on the internet.  They will be copying relevant information from their findings into word.    They will learn how to give presentations of their work using PowerPoint application.

Instructional Strategies
Students will be instructed on how to log on to the Internet and to download and copy relevant information unto the hard drive.  I will make sure they also save promptly so as not to lose their documents in case of power failure.  I will provide assistance for weak students while giving credit to those who are fast in learning.

Project Assessment
Peers will be assessed using Standard Objectives test, practical and continous assesment. Note will be taking during class presentation.
