Day report was written: Notes on Saturday, actual report started on Monday

Report: There was something incriminating, but I can't remember...~.~;;

# of people Mage hugged: Not as many as she would have liked. T_T

     Well, the day started off very early, considering what time the previous day ended, but I'll have to get up even earlier for school...*groan*  Anyway, Dogu was a hell of a lot of trouble to put on, thanks to all the layers.  She didn't stay together as well as she could have, either.  I think I'll save details about the costume construction and problems for the Dogu section of my finished costumes section (which will hopefully be done within the next month), but to make things short and sweet: the headpiece wasn't as heavy as some might think, thanks to its hollow construction; the bootcovers kept falling down, which became quite annoying after a while; Dogu's wings lost a few sequins, but escaped otherwise unharmed and no cosplayers or "normals" were hurt even though several managed to either walk into the wings or trip over them or generally attempt to maim themselves somehow.

     It seems strange, but one of the highlights of the day turned out to be Jay's braid.  Yep, that's right.  Before the con, I wouldn't have thought that synthetic hair could provide so many hours of amusement, but it's true.  The other people in the group were joking that they should get me one of those braids...lol.  Jay, thanks for being cool with the whole thing...^^;  Anyway, to get back to the poit of con reports, which is to report what actually happened and blah blah blah...I had a good Saturday, in most regards.  The con once again suxx0red.  I think CNAnime this year was Sleepy Con, as opposed to last year's Ghetto Con.  *shrugs*  I didn't manage to see any anime at all, which was pretty disappointing, since there was some stuff that I did want to see.

     We got to the con rather late, by my standards, and Yukito (Reiko) and Ukiya (Rufus from Anime North) were with us this time to round out the masquerade group, as well as Dani (Encubed) and Jon (Milly from Anime North) with Keith (OmniLink) as chauffeur.  *patapat*  Sorry for making you drive the lot of us all weekend. ^^  It was a good start to the day to hear some music from the Read or Die OST.  Anyway, they all seemed to be quite impressed with my Dogu costume, though I can't imagine why, considering it was half-assed and it really showed how little time I'd had to make it (*sigh*).  Yukito did a bit of sewing to keep my bootcovers up, but it came out after a little while. T_T  Thanks anyway!  After getting there, we met up with the ISA crew again and had a while to kill in the dealers' room and the lobby before the CCML photoshoot time.  Ran into Jay and Mekou-chan again, which was awesome because I was kicking myself for being so shy on Friday.  ^^  Checked in for the masq. and handed in the music and everything.  I got the little hardcover book I'd bought for CNAnime signed by Jay and Mekou-chan, with the intention of asking everyone else at lunch and whenever I could catch them.

     It was a while before I spotted any of SMA, though I'm not sure I'd recognise the guys out of costume and some of the guys with them I'd never seen before and had no idea who they were (sorry!  I'm bad with names and guessing who people are and I haven't really spoken to any of you. T_T), but I remember catching sight of Aubz and Les as they entered the convention centre.  Omg, photos don't do justice!  ^_^  So amazing!  Wah!  I knew as soon as I saw them, of course, who they were, but I was way way to shy to go up to them and start talking.  ^^;;;  Yeah, I'm pathetic, I know.  *sighs*  It was like at Anime North...I was too shy to do anything but ask for a picture of them.  ^^;  You two looked so great!  ^_^  Though I'll admit that you weren't as hyper as I was expecting, Aubz.  =P

     It was kind of unexpected getting so many pictures taken of me, especially after the photo drought that was Friday.  O_o;  A lot of people asked me who I was and some people were like "Oh, I've never played that FF..." or just hadn't played FF in general or complained that there were too many video game cosplayers around (*sweatdrop*), but one person in particular was very nice to talk to and go t my contact info and everything because he said he just liked to talk to FF fans.  ^_^  I think he was the one who pointed out that the Magus sisters were also in FFIV, which impressed me, since most people at the con had never even heard of them, let alone knew of their previous appearance.  Some people asked me whether the headpiece was heavy or not, how I made it and how long it took.  I'm not sure if that means that they were impressed or not...O.o;  Personally, I think I did a crapy job of it, considering I coudl have done a nicer job of the fabric, instead of allowing it to look so patchy.

     I took a lot of pictures in the morning.  ^_^  I just grabbed whoever I could get!  It was a lot of fun and I finally ran out of pics on my memory card just before the CCML thingy.  Hee hee...I think I spent more time playing with Jay's Duo braid than taking pictures, though. ^^  It was so much fun.  ^^  I got a pic of wedding Yuna!  XD  So pretty!  It took a lot of guts to tell you that you looked beautiful in that dress, but you really did!  And you learned ot sew making that dress...?  It looked like you were a lot more experienced at sewing, judging by your dress!  Congrats on such a good job!  And Jay got Duo's poofy pants!  Ha ha...XD  Even if I did have high expectations of everyone on the SMA board, I was still surprised by how well everyone's costumes turned out.  ^_^  Speaking of which...Kurai got the Kaolla shirt done!  And Tama-chan!  So cute!  I wanted to get a pic of you and huggle you and give you Pepsi, but Mage was too sleepy and slow and missed her change. >.<;  Grr...

The rest of this report will be written as soon as I get over post-convention exhaustion/general laziness.

[Update] It's now January 2003.  Sure took me a long time, eh?  lol.  So yes, this is written months after the convention.  Quite a contrast to Friday's report, isn't it?  See, this is why I need to write my con report on the spot, as soon as I get home...once I put it off, it REALLY gets put off.

I think I wrote notes for this in August, but they're on a different computer not, if I did write them.

Anyway, the only thing that really happened on Saturday was the masquerade.  The CCML photoshoot was disorganised, but that's how it always is with massive groups, right?  The most you can see of me in ANY picture is either the top of my  headpiece or maybe, in a few instances, my entire headpiece.  That's about the extent of it. Oh well.  Anyway, the TAC photoshoot didn't happen.  I felt kind of guilty, even though I shouldn't, since I was the only one beside Paul who actually remembered about that group.  Paul brought donuts, but I couldn't eat anything because I was afraid that I'd get something on the headpiece and I didn't want to take it off until after the FF photoshoot.  That mass FFX photo we'd planned to happen?  Err...it DIDN'T, which was disappointing, but oh well.  I got some pics, but not many, unfortunately...=/  There's an amusing one where I'd managed to get one of Reiciel's tassles stuck on one of my spikes of doom. x_X;

But back to the masq.  There was no workmanship judging.  What the hell?  Oh well, Gord was apologetic about it and I felt guilty for harrassing him, but he was a sweetie, as always.  The skit was crap, but what can you expect from something that last minute?  *sigh*  Maybe I just shouldn't be in masquerades?  It would've been better, but Ukiya's Golfball Liberation Front flag fell out of her pocket when we were getting on stage. T_T  So much for that...I'm glad she was standing behind me, since it meant I couldn't see it happen (I don't know how I would've reacted if I HAD seen it).  Seeing Reiciel in the front was a little comforting, I guess, except that then at least one person I knew had seen the farce that was our poor excuse for a "performance" x_x;.

After the masquerade was what can only be described as a huge yaoi orgy with a huge crowd of yaoi fangirls standing around watching the action.  Okay, so one of the "guys" who were the perpetrators of this orgy was actually a girl, but that's just a technicality. =P  Oh my...*just shakes head*  My camera was basically out of pictures and I umm...yeah, I thought that pics of THAT wouldn't quite fit with the nice, tasteful pictures of the rest of the convention.  It was made better by the fact that I actually knew people who were getting involved.  Greg, you're never going to be the same after the Duo snogging incident, are you?  *snicker*  At least that was the girl, though, right?  Ha ha...

I was feeling a little faint by the end of that, since I hadn't had anything to eat all day (the FF photoshoot was after lunch, so I waited until I got out of my Dogu costume to actually take the headpiece off...which meant no food for me).  Thankfully, Ikegami (bless his soul) took pity on me and brought me a summerberry drink.  Wow....the hype was perfectly justified.  Or maybe I was so far gone that I'd have enjoyed anything, so long as it had the slightest bit of nourishment to it.  In any case, that kept me going until the masquerade was over.

Parted with the ISA people, Jay and half of my masquerade group.  Went to All-Night Anime/Karaoke.  Saw Erilan sing Butterfly for the first time.  Saw Trowa (Gundamo/Michael Jackson/whatever everyone else calls him...) sing.  Someone sang eX Dream...err...not the greatest, but..umm...it was eX Dream? ^_^;;;;;  I think I'll do karaoke at Anime North, but I don't know what.  Anyway, saw SMA sitting a distance away, but was again too shy to talk to them.  Since then, I've learned that I missed quite a bit of drama...damn.  Oh well, it's probably better that I did, in hindsight, since the way I did meet those involved was better, in the end.  ^_^  Saw some GTO for the first time and an episode of Excel Saga that I hadn't seen before.  I was really tired and I couldn't deal with it anymore, so I nagged to be driven home.  I should've just skipped out on it entirely and taken the subway with Yukito and Ukiya (maybe I should call you Assimilated now, since that's what you are on the messageboard?  I guess that means I should call Yukito Sioned now with that logic...hmm).

I didn't buy anything on Saturday, since I was again broke and couldn't afford anything but food.  *sigh*  So much for the Mahou Tsukai Tai OAV I'd been waiting a year to purchase...
