Day 3: Angel Sanctuary, here I come!
I decided to wear my costume again today, since I wanted to get a photo of me there, but in the end I was too embarrassed to ask someone to take a picture of me *sigh*. We got there ridiculously early, but were still far down the line that had already gathered for the premier of the "Ah! Megami-sama!" movie. It was...interesting, to say the least, but not because of the storyline. You see, the movie was presented, following the trend of "Angelic Layer" and "Adolescence of Utena"...raw *falls over*. The baddie, whose name sounded like "Celesti", though maybe it's supposed to be "Celestial", or something of that sort, seemed really interesting, but becuase we couldn't understand his dialogue, we hadn't the slightest clue what the hell was going on in that head of his. So, it looked really cool, but I think we really needed subtitles. Oh yeah, and we were sitting in the very front row so, by the end of it, we were deaf from the blaring music and the high-pitched voices of some of the most excitable characters.
We also went to see the three "Angel Sanctuary" OAVs, at my insistence. I swore I'd see it and we crammed into the line-up immediately after the first movie. The line got a little confusing as people started lining up perpendicular to the original line, which we were in. So, when they finally opened the doors, there was basically a stampede where everyone hurled themselves at the door to try and get inside. Luckily, Yukito and I made it...and in the front row, too! I was so damn glad to be there (and I got a picture of the Jibreel (Gabriel) I saw at AN '01 as well) ^___^. I'm sure Yukito had no idea what to expect. We watched all three OAVs and after the second one, when I asked Yukito if she liked it, she responded that she was "steadily becoming more obsessed with it every minute". Whee hee, I think I've successfully ensnared another friend into AS madness! I managed to get picture of a Lucifer, Michael and Jibreel at this convention! *remembering OAVs* WAI! KIRA-SEMPAIIIIIIII!!!!!!! XD (of course, this is all thanks to Angel getting me into this series in the first place...=P Thanks).
After those OAVs, we got in line for a showing of "Akira", since it has such a good reputation. It really wasn't to the taste of either Yukito or I, so we gave up and left after a while. Besides, we wanted to see a special event they had going on at the same time, which was called "Anime Win, Lose or Draw!". We were a little late and had to stand at the back at first, but we eventually got seats. It was quite amusing, for the most part, and that was in part due to the drawings themselves, but also to the random guesses some of the teams came up with, including the memorable: "Little sad boy being molested!" LOL. The series they were trying to guess was actually "Gatchaman". Hee hee. They had an incredible mix of titles to draw from, including one that premiered on Friday called "Gate Keepers" and one hentai title (which the all-female team objected to, since they were faced off against an all-male team). Titles that were of special note to me were "CLAMP Campus Detectives" (Go Akira! *snicker*) and...I...umm...can't remember the other one I was thinking of *sweatdrop*. There was a great deal of them I'd never heard of before. AH! I remember! ^_^v "Haunted Junction"! Great series, go out and watch it =P. After that, we called it a day (since I was feeling veryw ell p-q) and that's a wrap! I would've stayed, but there was no closing ceremonies and I...umm...*sweatdrop* wasn't feeling that great...*sweatdrop*. Oh well, I can't wait until Anime North rolls around again!
