Catalog Description
The course consists of a series of lectures and practice exercises
in research methods and case analysis. The study of corporate and
business level policy and strategy making is developed using a top-management
perspective. A research report, along with case analysis papers,
will be prepared by each member of the class. In-class case assignments
will be used for discussion and evaluation. In addition, a simulation
game is used to integrate theory with practice.

Assignments and Grading
Your grades will be based on the following: Examination of textbook
material, Case Analysis & Presentation.
Case Analyses
Each team will be assigned a "real" company to study throughout
the course. There will be two types of assignment related to the
study of the company, one an individual written analysis and the
other a team presentation summarizing the written analyses.
Each individual will submit written analyses of their "real"
company on assigned topics. I have provided a schedule at the end
of the syllabus for each assignment.
In addition, each team will a 30 minute presentation on the assigned
company. Requirements will be provided in a separate handout.
Final Grade The final grade will be based on the following scale:
A – 90% or higher
B – 80% up to 90%
C – 70% up to 80%
D – 60% up to 70%
F – less than 60%
