The name of this site comes from the Menhir, the only remains of a Hal-Kirkop Temple. A Monolith or Menhir is a vertically place megalithic stone, which is an architectural feature of the Bronze-Age People, which can nowadays be seen on the right-hand side of a main road from Valletta to Kirkop (a town in the South of Malta).
