Reviews
Snoop Dogg- Rhythm & Gangsta The Masterpiece: The Big Boss Dogg is back with another album. The last 2 albums he has hooked up with the Neptunes and other producers to craft some heat. Yall know the story behind Snoop by now so no need to rehash. He is going through a transition in this music that has got alot of flack so check out my 1 page review of the album wit a little re-twist to the old site (like the bandanna background?) Click on the tracks to hear a snippet of each song:

1.
I Love To Give You Light, (Intro): Alchemist does this gospel influenced beat and I have to say this is the best Snoop intro song since Gin & Juice. Snoop kills this introspective track talking about his life. Excellent start.

2.
Bang Out : J.R. produces this banga and this is the Snoop that people are used to. Not really feeling this song too much, but Snoop definitely sounds like he has the hunger back.

3.
Drop It Like It's Hot - (with Pharrell) : Unless you took a trip to the moon recently, you have heard this single somewhere. At first I did not like the song, but it grows on you very quick and it is a musct have in the club. The Neptunes kill this beat with the heavy bass and tounge clicks for the loop. Pharrell comes wit some heat on the rhyme tip and Snoop once again kills the track. The chorus is cheesy but catchy. Overall one of the biggest hits Snoop has EVER HAD!!!

4.
Can I Get A Flicc Witchu - (with Bootsy Collins) : Josef Limberg produced this one and the beat is too busy for me. The rhymes are average at best and it just sounds like Snoop is babbling on it

5.
Ups & Downs - (with The Bee Gees) : Warryn Campbell did this heavy hitta with the Bee Gees sample and we now see Snoop singing the hook. Crazy bass on it and Snoop addresses the Eastsidaz drama: Yo what up Muthafucka its Snoop Dogg/Tryin to figga out how the fuck Im gon do yall/hangin  wit the homey from the turf that's young Q-Ball/givin me the word on the streets here's the scoop yall/the niggas from the Eastsidaz split up/and one of them tried to fuck yo shit up/nah cuz dont believe that/that's my homey for life. I have been critical of Snoop's relationships wit DPG members and hopefully he can mend some of those relationships (Free Tray Dee). Bangin song wit that Doggy Dogg feel to it.

6.
The Bidness - Now peeps know that I am a HUGE Soopafly fan and when I saw that he did the beat to this, it was one of the first songs I checked out. Funny skit at the beginning of the song between Soopa and DJ Pooh. Soopa combined a grip of samples on this to give it a old school feel to it. Snoop DESTROYS this song to bits! The hunger is there, the beat is clean, the voice is sinister and this ranks to me as one of his best songs on any album. MUST LISTEN!!!!!

7.
Snoop D.O. Double G - Black Jeruz and Sha Money crafts this funky beat and it has the potential to be another single. The key to this song is once again the hunger and execution Snoop performs with. You can tell he took his time with this album. Tight song and yes it is another song in reference to himself.

8.
Let's Get Blown -  Ah, the second single. The Neptunes and Snoop share a definite hit making chemistry and this song is no different. Perfect song to cruise in your ride to while going to the club. Lovin the beat and the lyrics are cool. Good vibe to the album so far.

9.
Step Yo Game Up - (featuring Lil Jon/Trina) : This one was produced by Lil Jon. He is the producer everyone wants on their album for that token "crunk" track. While the lyrics are cool by Snoop and Trina, Lil Jon gets on my nerves on it and other than the tight bass for your system, the song is skippable.

10.
Perfect - (with Charlie Wilson) : The 3rd song produced by the Neptunes and in the same vein as "Beautiful" this song is for the special ladies out there. Snoop really has the potential if he wants to have 4-5 bonafide singles and this is another one. Nice chill vibe to it and Charlie Wilson lands a "perfect" hook to it.

11. WBALLZ (Interlude) : You can't have a Snoop album without WBALLZ and DJ EZ Dicc. Hilarious skit that will take you back to the Doggystyle days.

12.
Fresh Pair Of Panties On : Ole Folks, which is part of Soopafly's production crew did this chill track as Snoop talks about gettin in some panties. Real mellow track but I am liking it. Grown folk music here.

13.
Promise I: Mr. Porter of D-12 fame did this beat and I am feeling this one. Almost sounds like Jill Scott did the chorus, but it is once again very mellow. Very mature sound to it, but yet you can still vibe to it.

14.
Oh No - (with 50 Cent) : Ron Browz and Sha Money did this RIDICOULOUS beat! Might be a little too gangsta for radio but it is a banga nonethaless. 50 Cent has some nice rhymes, but Snoop completely outshines him on it. One of the best songs on the album. SINISTER!!!!
