| Daz Dillinger- This Is The Life I Lead: Daz is back with his 3rd solo album. Production is handled by Mike Dean and Daz himself so you don't have to worry about the beats being weak. Check out this 1 page review and see how it sizes up. You can click on the song title to listen to a sample of the track. 1. Intro - DPGC 4 Life 2. Drama - Tight piano loop and guitar and that str8 gangsta shit from Daz. Hard as coka bricks! 3. Ain't That Somethin' - (featuring Crystal/PFN): Another hard ass gangsta track. I am impressed with Daz's cousin's PFN and the new female rapper on his label, Crystal. Speakers do not have a prayer on this track. 4. Bitch Bitch Bitch Make Me Rich - (featuring Too Short): Sounds like "It Might Sound Crazy" beat wise with a little bit of a twist on the keys. Too Short spits the pimp rhymes and Daz continues to impress me with his lyrics. 5. Keep It Gangsta- Very uplifting song (I know the title says otherwise, but it is a good song). Probably the most uptempo song on the album, but it still will hit hard in your system. 6. I Live Every Day Like I Could Die That Day- Another gangsta banger for those systems that go BOOM! Daz gets quite lyrical on this one. 7. Load Up - (featuring Tanya Herron) : I know it is hard to find cds banging from front to back, but this one is an exception. Tight beat, tight bass, tight lyrics= MUY BUENO!!! 8. Run Tha Street- Quite possibly the best song on the album. Daz gets into Tha Row and Suge Knight pretty hard on this one. Sick beat on this one! 9. We Do This Passion- I know by now I am sounding like a broken record, but this album is the shit! Another banging beat and Daz rides it till the wheels fall off! 10. Redrum Galore! - (featuring Mean Piece): A str8 rock track, with Daz sounding like he is rapping on a cell phone with his raspy voice. The track reminds me if Daz met Metallica in the studio, the track would sound something like this. More Death Row disses as well. 11. This Is The Life I Lead- Great song to end the album with. Daz rapping about this life he leads. Sick beat and tight lyrics. 12. Outro - DPGC 4 Life- Gangsta Perogative is a hidden track on this one with Kurupt and Roscoe. Very tight! The other song with Kurupt is alright, nothing special. 13. Keep It Gangsta (Remix) (hidden track): This is a hidden track that is very tight as well. Daz Dillinger was my 1st 1 page review on the old Illuminati site and this album is easily better than RAW. Daz truly created a solo album on his own. NO help from DPGC, but don't worry, Daz is working on a EP with the DPGC click that will drop this year! Easily one of the best West Coast album to drop this year so far. 9.25 OUT OF 10 |
