Chapter Five

Abby, the phone is for you! my mother screamed up to my bedroom.
She found out about our discovery, and seemed to be very understanding about it.
I turned and picked up my phone.
Hello? I said into the receiver.
Hey, its me Amber. Turn on the TV to channel six. The report on the woman is on.
Ok, thanx. Bye. We said our good-byes and hung up with each other.
I switched on the TV in my room and quickly put it to channel six.

Next on the six oclock newsA death of a woman leaves the town of ShadyFalls
terrified of their safety. A man falls six feet out of his apartment window, and what
are your children doing tonight? A look at local raves. Are they dangerous or safe?
Coming up in 2mins time.

Does your cat hanker for some spankering? Try the new

I muted the TV and ran downstairs.
Mom, the story of the woman is on right now. I told her.
What channel? she asked. Not very excited at all.
Channel six. Im going back upstairs. I turned and ran back into my room. I unmuted the TV as I settled back down on my bed.

Last night a ShadyFalls resident was found dead in front of the Williams home.
Two kids, by the names of Abigail Thompson and Amber Silva, discovered it when
Their car broke down infront of the house. They looked for a phone, but only discovered
The body of Cindy Maria Williams, the daughter of Ann-Marie Williams and James
Alexander Williams. They both perished last year, after being attacked and brutally killed
In their home. They did a autopsy on the body of Cindy Williams, and found that the body
Dosed with a high amount of morphine. The ear drums were severely damaged, and a
Small ball was found in the inside of her mouth. They are still doing test to find out what
It is. More on the story at 12 tonight.

I turned off the TV and called up Amber.
Hello her voice was muffled and low.
Hey, are you sleeping? I asked.
No, just really tired. Did you watch the news? she asked. Her voice became much clear.
Yeah. Were famous! I screamed. Not meaning to sound that happy.
Yeah. My mom is so protective of me now. Shes afraid that I might get killed. She said.
Thats gotta suck. My mom doesnt seem to care that much. I guess thats good though.
I switched the phone to the other ear.
Your lucky. I need to get away from her right now. She said.
Come over then. I can pick you up and we can head to McDonalds. I said
Sure. Pick me up in 20mins. Ok?
Yeah sure. Bye.
Bye she hung up.

I got up and decided to stay in my PJs.  I hopped downstairs and told my mom where I was going.
I grabbed my keys and headed out. I reached Ambers house in 5mins. She was waiting for me in the front of her house. I guess she thought the same thing as me, she stood there in her PJs.
Hey, jump in. I popped open my trunk and let her put her bags in there.
She jumped in and I headed to McDonalds.
Have you talked to the guys since yesterday? I asked her.
Nope. Trevor never called me, and when I called his mom said that he was busy. She turned on the radio.
Whats their problem? They always play jokes on us, but we cant play one on them? They really piss me off sometimes. I turned into the McDonalds drive-threw and order two meals, and drove out.
Lets call them from your house tonight. Amber suggested.
Ok. They better be home. We drove the rest of the way in silence. I turned into my driveway, and there sat Trevors car. We climbed out and headed inside. When we reached inside Trevor and Josh was sitting down in the living room talking with my mom.
Hey you guys are finally here. Trevor and Josh have been waiting here for half an hour now.
My mom got up and left us alone.

Hey. Come upstairs. We all ran upstairs in my room.
Amber and Trevor sat on the bed, while I sat on the floor with Josh.
Why did you guys get so upset for? I asked both of them.
We dont like those kind of noises, and you guys know that. Plus when we joke around it has to do with meaningless stuff, not things you guys are actually scared of. He looked down then at Trevor. Were sorry we left like that
I looked at Amber then back at them. Youre forgiven. Now you guys better leave before my mom realizes where you guys are. We all got up and walked to the front door. We said our good-byes and closed the front door. We ran back upstairs. I climbed into bed and Amber climbed into the inflatable mattress.
I cant believe that we found that womans body Amber said twisting and turning in her bed.
Stop moving around. Yeah, I know. It was cool. I turned off the lamp beside my bed. Amber and I sat in darkness, until Amber broke the silence.
Have you ever wandered how she died? Like what did they do to kill her?  I looked down at Amber, and all I could see was dark shiny eyes peering at me.
Ive never really thought about it before. I guess by stabbing or something
I lay back on my bed and closed her eyes. Good-night Amber I rolled on my side and fell into a deep sleep.

The next morning was miserable. It was pouring rain outside, my car wouldnt start, and our ride for school was 30mins late. Amber and I waited in front our house for our ride. 10mins later he finally arrived. Steve honked his horn and we piled in.
What took you so long? Were late for school. I took off my hood and settled back into the seat.
Steve turned around. Sorry, your highness. I had to stop and drop something off. He turned around and headed to school. Steve was cute in the little kid kinda way. He was tall with spiky brown hair, and the most intense eyes. He was a closer friend with Amber then with me. We pulled into the school parking lot and climbed out.
Thanx Steve. Amber and I ran to our first period classes.
I dont remember where Steve left to, but that was the last time that we ever saw him again.
