Skiing/Snowboarding


MOUNTAIN SPORTS INN is just three miles from Killington and Pico Ski Resort. When it comes to Killington skiing or snowboarding, there is no better place to play east of the Mississippi. Killington and Pico Ski Resort is the biggest and baddest there is. It has the variety of terrain for everyone, they are the "KING" of snow making, and they have a ski school second to none. Better yet, with 205 trails, 7 mountains, and 35 lifts, you will never get bored. Furthermore, our staff is on the hill daily, and we can help you first hand with any information you may need about the mountain. We can advise you about rentals, lessons, places to eat, the hidden trails, or tell you first hand where the best skiing is that day for your level. Cross Country Skiing


Just 1.5 miles from MOUNTAIN SPORTS INN is one of the premier cross country ski resorts in Vermont. MOUNTAIN MEADOWS CROSS COUNTRY SKI RESORT has 60 kilometers of trails. All centered around beautiful Kent Pond. The new lodge, shop, and restaurant makes this resort a great family experience. Equally important, the trail system is extremely diverse. They meander through old growth, evergreen forests, open fields, orchards, and backcountry woods. They also have more snow making capacity than any other Killington cross country ski resort in Vermont.

Hiking


Vermont is still God's country! The wilderness is vast and undeveloped. And, when you venture into the backcountry by foot, it isn't long before the only sound you can hear is your rhythmic breathing and heart pounding. Two miles away from the MOUNTAIN SPORTS INN, are some major trail heads, the Appalachian trail and the Long Trail. We can provide you the necessary information you need from just a short walk through the forest to a long strenuous day out on the mountain trails.

Golf


Within three miles of the MOUNTAIN SPORTS INN there are two great golf courses, and numerous others within a short drive. The GREEN MOUNTAIN NATIONAL golf course built in 1996 has a beautiful setting while challenging you on every shot. Designed by Gene Bates, the 18 hole, championship course features bent grass fairways, tees, and greens, a state of the art irrigation system, and an expansive drainage system. There is no better place in Vermont to get great views of the fall foliage, no matter what hole your on. Check out their website. Golf packages are available through Mountain Sports Inn. The KILLINGTON GOLF COURSE located on Killington Road in the Killington Village, also has a beautiful mountain setting. The course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish. Fishing & Hunting


Rivers, streams, and endless forests are plentiful in Vermont. And, fishing and hunting, when in season, can be a great family adventure. Road & Mountain Biking


Our staff at the MOUNTAIN SPORTS INN, are serious mountain bikers, and we can fill you in on the best rides in the area. At Killington, all abilities can ride on five different mountains. With over 40 miles of trails, there is something for everyone. Using the K-1 gondola, you can reach the 2nd highest peak in Vermont in just minutes, and then ride your bike down the single track to the bottom. Only, to take another run, of course! Also, Road bikes and touring are very popular. Killington is right in the middle of state, where the touring in any direction is simply beautiful. So, there are no shortage of rides in the area.
