| Races The Second Born Weres Spawned from a Lycanthari exiling ritual were the weres. As it is told amongst the Lycanthari, there was once a young wolf shape shifter, Kup Henkth - a Lycanthari that held The Path in great disdain, who sought to teach their mystic arts to the Lord of Storms. However, the night before he and his accomplices were to make their escape, the Lycanthari discovered Kups dark plans and imposed their harshest judgment on him; cursed exile. As the ceremony was in place, the young man's fellow conspirators attempted to break him free, but they were vastly out numbered and suffered the same fate as their ill-chosen leader. Through the powerful ritual, rarely spoken of a known only as The Eternal Bond, they were changed into a creature that was half man, and half their chosen shift form. They were called Those Who Were Beasts and were cast out of the lycanthari home of Grovesend. Over the years, the Cursed Ones title changed until they were known only as weres. For longer than any can remember, the Lycanthari and weres have clashed. The two races despise one-another and seek only to purge the world of the other, though the sentiment is more that of the weres than the Lycanthari. Weres merely look like humanoid versions of whatever beast their ancestors had been, ranging from wolves and big cats, to bears and apes. On average, males stand approximately 5.5 to 7 feet in height and females 5 to 6 feet. A fully fit male will weigh an average of 200 to 280 lbs. while females are lither at 180 to 220 lbs. Like the Lycanthari, weres have an extended life, capping usually between two to three centuries. The culture of the weres is most closely related to the battle-born society of the Minotaur. The Weres place great pride in combat and train themselves to such an end. Despite their warlike tendencies, they are a cunning race that are very organized and structured. They follow one leader, known as the Alpha, and no other. The Alpha leads them in combat and in life alike. The only similarity they bear of their prosecutors is a respect of nature, though it is hardly as strong. Amongst their own, only capable warriors are respected, the weaker left with the tasks of tending to village trivialities and attending the warriors. Outside of their home, they associate with no others aside from those loyal to the Lord of Storms. They hold an especially potent hatred towards the Lycanthari, for obvious reasons. The Weres have since banished Lycanthar, and developed their own language, aptly named Were. It sounds very similar to a series of snarls and growls, though slightly more refined, with rolled Rs and drawn out Ss. Their alphabet is relatively similar to Lycanthar in look, but has entirely different symbols for everything. Again, it is a language easier to speak than write and read. Weres also speak Common and Elven very loosely. The Weres are strict servants of the Lord of Storms. Any who are found to follow any of the gods is slain or exiled, if they manage to escape. The pride of the Weres is the warrior and their powerful barbarians are master combatants. Capable shamans have also originated from were society. Racial Skill: Feral Rage, Increased Sense, Natural Weapon (Claws - Value: 8) Movement: 4 squares per day over land and water The Half Bloods Draconians More commonly known as "half-dragons", Draconians are the product of a dragon and common Illcarian physical union. Dragons are known for their abilities to polymorph, and have been known to take on the forms of the more common races of Illcara. In these forms, dragons tend to be quite charming in both looks and personality and have are prone to falling in love or becoming infatuated with another of that race. When this happens, half-dragons are created. A half-dragon is a mixture of the two races, looking mostly like the common race, but bearing various features of the dragon parent. These features can very from simply having wings or claws, to having an entire body covered in dragon scales. All half-dragons have within their means the potential to obtain half the strength of their dragon parent upon reaching the age of maturity, as well as its breath weapon. In the established Draconian city of GulThuk, their society best resembles that of a small human community. There is one Overseer that ensures the citizens safety and that order is kept, but exacts no other power. The community is largely inclusive of each others needs as the half-dragons live peaceful, day-to-day lives. Since become more focused in one area, they have been able to better express personal skills, becoming similar to the humans; master of no particular skill, but fairly decent with everything. Outside of the city, however, most Draconians are looked upon in fear and disdain, the reactions ranging from exile to simply being ignored. They therefore tend to interact little with the other races of Illcara. Aside from the native tongue of their mortal parent, half-dragons can speak Draconic, the native tongue of dragons, which is most closely referenced to the dark elf language. It resembles the cryptic language of magic, but comes across far more guttural and bestial, for obvious reasons. The languages alphabet is quite spidery and deceptively elegant to behold. Many, who take the chance, have learned well the Draconic tongue. Draconians are loyal to whichever god they so please, though many pursue the Balance under Neutari, finding some solace in the stability it offers. Depending on their physical capabilities, half-dragons can be found in various livelihoods from warriors to mages. Note: Please specify which colour you wish to be.
