Before starting this course I was anxious as
might be
expected because of my novice understanding of technology tools. Sure I
was
literate at simple computer use, software, hardware and internet use.
However,
my desire to learn to use technology tools, particularly simple yet
effective
web design, inspired me to take this class.
The self assessment I took at the start of this class, linked below,
show that
I am capable of using the software and hardware yet I have room to
improve with
my methods of application to make the learning more interactive. By
learning
several intricacies of Power Point, I hope to now adapt more animation,
sound
and interactive links to my presentations. I have also learned more
option for
assistive technology that helps create an inclusive learning
environment.
Recently, I completed an exciting new step in my teaching career by
preparing a
web
site
for my science class that makes my curriculum open to all students,
parents
and teachers. It also allows me to share newsletters, assignments,
rubrics and
any other important information in a way that is easily accessible by
the
school community. Through these learned technology tools, I am sure
that my
students will have a more professionally supported learning environment
and therefore
shine even brighter.
