This basic setup is used for teaching fundamentals of data acquisition and signal processing to UG and PG students. The data acquisition system consists of a 5 MHz sampling frequency analog to digital conversion card from National Instruments. The driver software is based on LabVIEW programming language. Pre-recorded machinery signals on a DAT recorder can be acquired and analyzed with this system, which consists of simultaneous 8 channel sampling. Other A/D cards with lower sampling rates of 333 kHz and 50 kHz are also available.
