Kyle's Campaign

Kyle's shirts, sidewalk signs and posters are not inspiring but annoying. Kyle must have paid attention in art class because his neon green propoganda does do its job of getting the attention of a pedestrian, but it also is irritating. Seeing the entire campus littered by kyle's junk is no better than the obnoxious preachers that scream at students about how they are all going to hell.

You Annoyed Us

Writing messages in chalk all over the quad is annoying but effective. Spray painting the messages?Persistant. But in the case of Kyle, the campaign became absolutely ridiculous. The campaign was loud and downright annoying. Everywhere we went we were subjected to "Do you agree?"messages, to the point that we wanted to kill ourselves wherever we went.

Keep It Quiet

The Christian religion is a wonderful religion that promotes a compassionate, respectable way of life. However, fudamentalist and born-again Christians are giving the religion a bad name, Bloomington-Normal's Eastview church is more a cult than anything else. True worship is lost there, overshadowed by special effects that turn solemn worship into a mockery. Accepting Christ is meant to be a private, personal matter. Christians may feel that they need to witness to everyone and convert all they can. But in truth, being a follower of God, whether through Christianity or some other religion, is an exteremely personal matter that should not be paraded about on neon shirts and spray-painted messages on campus. In the end, the decision of which religion, if any, to follow is a personal matter and no one--NOONE--should be told that their decision will result in death or a trip to hell.

Final Thoughts

There is not just one way. Christianity is not about just accepting Christ. It's about living a good life. And whether we are Christian or not, one thing is for certain--we are living our lives here, now, on Earth. Concerning ourselves with what is next to come is dangerous if it causes us to lose sight of life and the beauty of our world and our lives. Live life and love life--after all, that's what Jesus did.
