| LOVE The devotion a man has for his wife The affection a mother gives her child The kiss of life from the sun to a rose The mutual bonding of the call of the wild These are the things that often occur These are the times that are shared A special feeling...A single word A certain ambiance in the air Wars have been fought while men died In search of finding what is so dear Seeking high and seeking low forever Never knowing if it's far or near But it can be found if you're true to your heart And it's infinite magic comes from God above It's true form is beautiful and rare indeed It's that special feeling known as love. | HOW DO I FEEL? I like someone far away Distance seperates us They know not my troubled heart Or my crestfallen soul If only I could talk to them Face to face Heart to heart With hope that day will come I dream of that day If that day comes I fear My tongue will be tied by anxiety I'll shy away Saying nothing Of the things within my heart Or of love I have to share A wall built by shyness Keeping me forever alone A prisoner Locked away Where loneliness is my prison A companionless life I live. Can you tell me how I feel? copywrite 2002 dmmaynard |
| The Forsaken Darkness flared as the day faded into night The stars dotted the sky as the living slept The onset of moonrise gave an eerie glow For now is the time the dead has kept The mensfolk bar their windows and lock their doors Their women to keep safe is their chore The shadows of flickering fires give birth to nightmares For their minds are the seed while evil is the whore But their malevolence is minor to the living dead Those soulless creatures that stalk the night They feed upon the flesh of the living Making their ghoulish meal an unholy sight There is a man who roams this ghastly realm For he fears not the evil undead He honors men and charms the women While thoughts of Hades course through his head The ashen white of his pallid skin Is reminiscent of an aged bridal gown While countless years have eroded his face Into a gaunt and saddened frown His adroit gaze can pierce a man's soul While his eyes resemble vivid pools of starless night The corners of his mouth turn into a leering grin Revealing twin incisors of gleaming white He is a soulless creature who wanders in darkness To exist forever needing the blood of a man's life His longing for companionship is overshadowed though By a loneliness that is riddled with strife To be mortal again is his fervent wish To end his centuries of despair There is no end to his lonely existence His life is his cross to bear The world of man has forsaken him They hunt him down with burning desire To rid the world of his hellish life The life of a somber and lonely vampire. | The Unicorn As dawn kisses the morning sky The sun's rays touch the ground The air tingles with mystic life Of nature's magic all around It's a calm and beautiful day As soft steps can be heard A shimmering white moves through the trees To be announced by their silent word It stops to listen to the birds' songs Their cheerful melodies echo through the wood It's beauty is revered and ever present Bestowing it's benevolent majesty as it should It's silvery silken hair dances in the breeze As it's clear blue eyes sparkle in the light It's tail twitches gently without care As the ivory luster of it's hide gleams white It has one unique feature though A feature full of magic its been said This creature is a rare one indeed For it carries a single horn upon it's head.
