TOPIC: WHY DOES GOD LET US SUFFER?
Until then, He has given us plenty of warning about what is to come in the
last days before His return (see Matthew 24, for example). But He is still
giving us the chance to choose Life even before He returns, because His
return will be a violent one as mankind makes one last effort to reject Him
outright by literally trying to fight Him (see Rev. 17:12-14 and Chapter 19 verses 11 and 19).
Those who believe what He says and receive the power He made available at His first coming can overcome that human tendency to reject Life and be spared
the consequences. Today, many teach Christianity, but they don't teach
that Christ gives us the power to regulate and ultimately overcome ourselves.
As it is written in 2 Timothy 3:5 about the last days,
there will be some form of godliness in existence, but actual power of God
will be rejected. Men would certainly be hearers of the Word (hearing
it in the churches) but not doers because it is impossible for us to be doers
without the power, and that power is given when we obey God daily. Jesus demonstrated that obedience and subsequent power in His Life, not only to save us, but for our example. Note exactly what He did (see Philippians 2:8-13,
note especially verses 8, 12 & 13, which tell us exactly what we should do and that God will empower us).
That obedience must be done even through suffering, as Christ
demonstrated in His own life (see Hebrews 5:8, Philippians 2:8-13). If we
would just give that power half a chance and submit to it, we would see that
it becomes easy because it is not us but Christ in us (see Philippians 4:12-13, Galatians 2:20, Matt. 11:28-30 and Philippians 2:5).
SEEK THAT POWER, DESIRE THAT POWER. OBEY GOD, AND DAILY ASK FOR
THAT POWER AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE IT (Luke 11 verse 10 & 13).
Then you must be thankful for it, value it and allow Him to maintain it in
you by resisting the human urge to do evil (especially the evil of
self-righteousness), which is ever present, and ever trying to drive out the
POWER (see 2 Corinthians 10:3-6).
Otherwise, we have the situation that exists in the world today, a world that
has rejected Life and blames God for it.
