Frequently Asked Questions:
What types of music do you play? We play mostly classical pieces but are happy to accommodate more modern requests such as jazz or pop pieces. How is a string ensemble incorporated into a wedding ceremony? We will play for approximately 30 minutes prior to the ceremony as guests arrive. We will then play three selections for the seating of the family, the bridal party processional, and the bridal processional. If you desire music at points throughout the ceremony (such as a musical interlude or lighting of unity candle), we are happy to provide this as well. We then conclude with a recessional piece or pieces as the bridal party and guests file out. Which songs do you recommend for a wedding ceremony? We recommend the following: Prelude: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Meditation from Thais Seating of Family Members/Bridal Party Processional: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, Canon in D, Air on G String Bridal Processional: Bridal Chorus, Trumpet Voluntary, Trumpet Tune Lighting of the Unity Candle: Ave Maria, Air on G String Recessional: Hornpipe, Wedding March Of course, these are just suggestions. We will make every effort to honor special requests. See Musical Selections for computerized excerpts of these pieces. How will you know when to start the processional music? We will need a signal from a representative or a bridal coordinator. We will discuss these details with this person prior to the beginning of the event. How do I reserve Idalia String Ensemble for my event? Please fill out the information requested on the Contact Us link, and we will respond as quickly as possible.
