These days, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who HASN"T been ON A DIET.. yet, look at how many of us try over & over again without any lasting results! WHY? The main problem is the implication that you are going ON a diet.. to say your going ON one means you can go OFF it also! Instead of the on-again off-again cycle, we must learn to permanently alter our lifestyles, and adopt healthier habits for long-term success!
The other problem is our "need" to fit the "IDEAL WOMAN" mold.. you know-- the ideals that are pounded into us by the media-- and often expected of us by society! And when our bodies don't conform to these UNREALISTIC standards, we (and often others) deem ourselves a failure! Interestingly enough, we often turn to food as a comfort--- increasing our self-hatred time and time again.. Your first step into any fitness program begins with one simple--yet essential step...Assessing yourself and your lifestyle! You must look at your daily habits, and HONESTLY ask yourself, what changes do I need to make, to create a healthy life for myself? You then have some other questions to ask yourself- What changes will take place in my life as I lose weight? How will losing weight effect your different relationships? At What weight would I be COMFORTABLE, physically and emotionally- and will I be able to keep with the same lifestyle changes in order to maintain that weight? And, strangely enough-- what advantages do I feel I have by NOT losing weight? There are advantages-though they are different for each of us. Believe it- otherwise, you wouldn't BE overweight! Is it simply easier not to have to watch what you eat-or-to not excercise? Does it allow you to avoid intimate relationships? Does it act as a "Buffer" against painful experiences? Whatever the reasons.. NOW IS THE TIME TO FACE THEM, DEAL WITH THEM AND DUMP THEM! Until you unload your emotional baggage, you will be stuck carrying around that extra baggage you wear as extra weight! Don't be judgemental of yourself or others.. And find A support group or buddy-- with the right group, Weight-loss can actually be enjoyable! |

THE TIME TO "DO IT " IS NOW! Whatever lifestyle changes you make, the most important is to Start enjoying life NOW! Don't use your weight as an excuse NOT to do something.. If you've allways wanted to go to a NightClub, or to go Dancing... Don't "wait till you lose some weight" DO IT!! If you've allways wanted to wear Pastels instead of black & Navy DO IT!! Want to wear SEXY Lingere? DO IT! (your mate will love it!)
You can NEVER have a major success in weight-loss until you learn 2 things-- LIKE YOURSELF and BE NICE TO YOURSELF! Treat yourself as you would a good friend-- after all, who hasn't heard the expression "you'll allways be the best friend you could ever have!?' Believe In Yourself- and Good Luck! |
