Chinese vampires are also known as Geung-si. They are very similar to American
vampires, but they also have their differences. Geung-si's are afraid of sunlight and garlic.
They can also be staked or burned. During the daytime, geung-si's lie in coffins. At night, they
get out of their beds in their search for blood. They are very similar to zombies because they
can not think. Unlike American vampires, geung-si's hop around with their arms stretched out in front
of them. It is a funny, yet scary sight. Geung-si's can be stopped by a vampire hunter. The vampire
hunter needs to conduct a spell. They need to recite a thing (which usually ends with "la, la, ling.").
They will then bless this yellow paper with chinese letters on it. All they have to do after that, is
stick the paper on the vampire's forehead. It is an interesting concept.
Geung-si's usually dress up like the traditional Chinese tai-gom (loyal male servants
of the king). Why? I do not know. The clothes are black with blue design. They also wear hats
that are black and have a red string attached to it. It was just the geung-si look. Chinese vampires look
a lot different from American vampires, but they both have fangs. If you would like to learn more about
geung-si's, than I recommend that you watch some traditional Chinese vampire movies.
