Placebo has been around since 1994, and have relesed a total of four CDs to date. Placebo is an all male three piece band. The lead singer, Brian Molko, is the one you see sporting a dress. The guitarist, Stafan Odsdal, is to Brian's left, and the drummer, Steve Hewitt, is to Brian's right. Brian, Stefan, and Steve are all from different backgrounds. Brian is half American and half Scottish, but he was born is Belgium, Stefan was born in Sweden, and Steve was born is England. Brian and Stefan went to the same school in Luxembourg, but never really interacted. They met in London once again. They then formed a two person band, which they called Ashtray Heart. Brian and Stef figured that they needed a drummer, Steve played with them but couldn't join. So Stef's friend became their percussionist, he ended up quiting the band, and the first person that was called was Steve. And that's Placebo's story. |

- Brian said that in high school he was a "loner", a "drama geek", and that Stefan was much "cooler"
