You Don't Know...
By Reagan Reese.
You don't know what you do to me, you don't know how it makes me feel, when you shut me out, it makes the pain all too real, I know you tell me, you whisper the words, and you tell me not to worry, they're just empty words, but I remember when those words were for me, and I remember how everyone saw our smiles, and I remember how it used to be, but now it's been too quiet for a while, I try to stay silent, and hide my tears, I try to be what you want, and trust in you when you say have no fear, but it hurts so much, because I just don't know, I love you so much, but you don't allow me to show, I pray to god at night, a thing I forgot how to do, I ask him for strength, and to just, let, me have you, I ask for love, and I know that is what i get, but I dream of the days that used to be, and my fears make me fret, I have never had anything in my life, as blessed as you, I'm sorry if this makes you upset, but He knows how much, I just want to love you.
Untouched...
I sit silent, words out of breath, I lay awake, nights sleepless at best, Thinking of things unsaid, Thinking of her, the one I cannot touch, Fleeting dreams, mysteries abound, Words fail me, whenever shes around, Poet, fool, joker and rake, Wanting to know, what will it take? I open the doors, and yet she runs away, I try to say what I mean, But I can never make her stay, I try to look in, try to find being, I try to see, her mind I cannot read, I try to listen, her words impede, I try so hard, to be what she needs, But I am lost, adrift amongst the reeds, I try to speak, words fail me now, I wish to show, the feelings around, I wish to say, what I want so much, But she is the woman, the woman I cannot touch.
