Batman...and Beyond Limited Edition Art Batman...and Beyond Limited Edition Art

'Batman...and Beyond' charts the Dark Knight's progression in the award-winning Warner Bros. Animated series which ran from 1992 to 2000. Designed by Juan Ortiz, this pan cel portrays three versions of Batman as conceived by art director Bruce Timm. The first Batman (from the first season) is the dark and vengeful character who exists in the equally vengeful Gotham City. The second Batman (Wearing his Jet-Wing) reverts to a more classic Bob Kane style, with notably grayer tones in Batman's suit. The third Batman, from Batman Beyond, shows a more Animee-influenced Batman: his suit is red and black, and his shape is more angular in contrast with the two previous Dark Knight styles. The animation for this limited edition was created at the Warner Bros. Animation Studio. The design and layout was rendered by Juan Ortriz, and the final tight drawing by Dan Beltran. The master inking was made by Laurie Dindis, which was then silk-screened onto an acetate sheet (or 'cel') along with the Clampett Studio Collection's seal of authenticity. Each cel was then expertly hand-painted on the reverse side in the classic animation style. The original background was meticulously rendered by artist Hector Martinez and reproduced utilizing a fine art giclee process. Each cel is hand-signed by famed Batman The Animated Series producer Bruce Timm. As a final step, each cel is hand numbered to an ultimate edition size of only 100 pieces. The piece measures 28 inches by 19.50 inches framed and comes with a black wood frame, black core top mat, red middle mat, black core bottom mat and plexi-glass. Foam core spacers are included in the framing process to create shadows of Batman behind each image.

Batman: Illustrated by Neal Adams Vol. 2 HC

Batman: Illustrated by Neal Adams Vol. 2 HC

Over the years, many artists have defined the look of one of the most iconic characters in popular culture -- DC Comics' Batman. Of all of them, perhaps the most influential is Neal Adams, who began drawing the Caped Crusader just as he was in danger of disappearing into a black hole of TV-inspired campiness and Pop Art oblivion. Adams' art returned Batman to his urban crime roots, putting him back in the shadows and rehabilitating his image for a new generation of fans. Joining Adams in the Batman renaissance was writer Denny O'Neil, who crafted stories to match the look and feel of the Darknight Detective's gothic roots. Inker Dick Giordano also helped refine the look and together the trio set a new standard for Batman comics. Now, for the first time, all of Neal Adams' Batman work--covers and stories--is being chronologically collected. This second volume, featuring Adams' contributions from 1967 through 1969, collects classic stories along with covers originally presented in: Detective Comics #393-411 Batman #217, 219-222, 224-227, and 229-231 The Brave and the Bold #88-90, 93 and 95 World's Finest Comics #199-200 and 202

Adams' art returned Batman to his urban crime roots, putting him back in the shadows and rehabilitating his image for a new generation of fans. his work not only delighted readers, but also inspired many writers to new heights of creativity, all of which would prove to be a substantial boost for comics' slow climb to acceptance as a legitimate art form. Now for the first time, all of Neal Adams' Batman work - covers and stories - is being chronologically collected. This first volume, featuring Adams' contributions from 1967 through 1969, shows the process of introduction, adaptation and innovation that the young artist brought to this legendary crime-fighter. Along the way, Adams also displays his interpretations of many other DC heroes, including Superman, The Flash, Aquaman and The Teen Titans, as well as his signature character, Deadman.
