Roots: Yeti, Urban Myths
Factoids: In the Adlib Awards of 1989, Drog got Best Film, Best Supporting Character & Best Camerawork. Gordon (Drog) was unaware of the films existance until a private premiere. All his footage is from previous holiday videos. Tourists in the village, were put on the spot when asked to appear. Noone refused. Stuart was suffering from food poisoning during the filming of his sequence. The film was premiered only 3 days after its final scenes had been shot. 2 lucky things occurred; the sudden fighting of dogs in the village, Eric coming across a dinted car (oh, gawd!)
Where are they now? Eric: Chorley Ian: Liversedge Stu: the pub Drog: bed Max: dunno
Dialogue trimphs: "Well, it doesn't smell too good, so he could be in there" "I don't believe he has any use for water in any form" "Not just in the village...he could be anywhere! He's been seen round here."
I love Eric because: Its probably his best role. He plays it so deadpan, its more or less completely adlibbed, but he pulls it off with a credibility that he has never since achieved.
Personal glimpse by Max Hora When I was first approached by Mr Taylor to appear in this spoof, I was reluctant to agree. I still had a bad taste in my mouth from when Mr Hatfield of Moonshin Productions had shot his piece in my proximity the year before. But one look at Adlib, and I knew they were professionals. I found their approach of making the entire thing up on the spot a bit unusual, but I believe that I gave them what they wanted. I ached to see the finished product, but had to wait until their next visit, in 1989. I found the film, informative, a witty narrative, a chilling experience and a professional product. Although I was promised further work and some money, it came to nothing and so I packed my bags, left the Prisoner shop to start a new life in the pretty town,
The bottom line: Well, the viewing public loved it, Drog loved it, Ian and Eric liked it. Today, it looks dated, tired and there are too many in-jokes. In 1989.....it was a true CLASSIC!
...and if he is on his spawning cycle...
...so, where are we again?
The Drog today, well last Sunday..
Two Yorkshire extras
A bloody awful picture
Eric goes back to his roots.
..so long as Eric's not with you...
They're out of Prisoner soaps, Eric
No, honest. It is this big...
Pause to think up the next line.
And before Adlib there was...
