My final day in Esquel as I was travelling back to Trelew on the overnight coach.

I woke up earlier than usual, around nine-ish, to explain to the maid that I was leaving today, and checking that it was okay that I left my back in the room. Then I went off to bus stop at about 10:45 to catch the 11am down to Trevelin to deliver a letter to someone there.

As I didnt have an address, I popped in to the tourist office to see if they knew where he lived. They said they did, but he had two addresses and they didnt know which one he would be at. Easing the complication, someone suggested handing it over to his daughter who worked in an office down the road. They gave me the directions, I went down there and handed it to her. Easy-peasy.

While waiting for the bus to Esquel, I went into the travel agents, and they priced up all the various tours around the region which I was interested in. Hmmm. Welsh heritage or ski-ing? Its a hard one!

Arriving back from Trevelin, the hostel was locked up which stopped me from paying and getting at my bag. Without much more to do during the day, I went to the internet cafe to try and copy the photos (nope!) and update the website (not really done) and ended up just chatting with peeps on messenger.

Remembering the invitation to meet the choir, I went to Esquels bilingual school to meet up with Sylvie. Unfortunately, she had to apologise as none of the older choir members had turned up for the session, only the young children. Nevertheless, they gave me a rendition of the songs that they knew in Welsh (some of which I didnt know!) and then practising some in Spanish. Apparently, they are also workig on a version of I Wanna Hold Your Hand by the Beatles, but I didnt get to hear that. A few minutes into the session, one of the older girls turned up (whom I had met in Trevelin the night before), but that was it, which was a pity. Hopefully more of them will be around at the Youth Eisteddfod to fill in my questionnaire!

I then went back to the hostel, where I paid up and took my bag, popping round to see Jayne in the Welsh centre, getting the note that Aled had posted there the night before and then going round to Aleds hotel to arrange to meet up in Trelew. I then left with the present of a bootleg copy of Ashokan playing in TJs at the Eisteddfod less than a fortnight ago. Bizarre!

Didnt eat much, but had some junk food for the bus back. We left Esquel on time, and I stretched out as we watched some trashy Steven Seagal film called In the Belly of the Beast, which, as you can guess, was hardly what could be called top-notch film-making. Maybe theyre supposed to send you to sleep?! Anyway, I slept quite comfortably and woke up approaching the lights near Gaiman and then got out in Trelew in the bracing morning air and home to bed at 6:15.
