Interests and Activities
My hobbies include voracious reading, chess, squash (seldomly played these days, sadly), more reading and frequent movie-going… followed by reading.
I have a personal library of over 7,000 volumes relating principally to theology but including philosophy, social and political theory, and history.
I am involved in my local congregation in teaching.

I am and have been involved in reading groups related to theology and culture such as:
- Faith and Freedom
(friends of the Journal of that name)
- Theology and Modernity
(some students and staff at Murdoch University)
- Dead Apologists' Society
(I am a joint founder and the amateurish web page creator - see http://www.geocities.com/deadapologistssociety).
I am also a committee member of the Anabaptist Association of Australia and New Zealand. I have written a brief review of Tim Costello’s Streets of Hope for their On the Road newsletter and am currently writing a review of Duane Friesen’s Artists, Citizens, Philosophers.
Theologically, I would describe myself as progressive evangelical.
