Introduction
What actually triggered the idea of attempting the 3 peaks is a bit of a mystery. None of us can actually remember coming to the decision or indeed recall who's idea it was in the first place. We concluded that we must have talked about it over a few bottles of wine one evening and for some reason I seem to have been labelled as the guilty party. Whatever, the decision was made and we knew that once we got past Christmas we would have to get some serious training done.
Fortunately we live in a fairly hilly area, so finding somewhere nearby to do our training was not a problem. For example, there is White Nancy - not the biggest hill you've ever seen but it can be quite steep in places. It's peak reaches the heady altitude of 280m, from which on a clear day you can see right out over the Cheshire Plain, Stockport, Manchester, Jodrell Bank and then the other way towards Shining Tor.
