DOORSLAMMER!
Doorslammer is the brainchild of Todd Westover, who at a young age had to decide between careers as a drag racer or a rock star! He choose rock, and while he's not a star yet, he's still working on it! He's still a race fanatic and in fact works at a racing magazine! The word "doorslammer" is a racing term for a car with doors that open & close, as opposed to a "rail". This band has been happening off & on and in various incarnations for at least 4 years and has had a veritable who's-who of LA rock in its line-ups. Besides myself (who played live for a while, but only appears on 4 songs on the CD), it has included Frank Meyer from the Street Walkin' Cheetahs, Bob Vennum & Ray Chin from the BellRays, Jimmy James from the Comatones/Hangmen, Dan Delcastillo of numerous bands, Melanie Coffee of the Excessories, and a revolving cast of drummers, including Scott Walsh, Alexis (i don't know his last name!) and Chris Miller. Its fuel-injected, drag-punk-pop with Todd's unique vision! Nothing else sounds quite like it! Check it out on 1+2 Records!
