JEFF DAHL

I've known Jeff off & on for I dunno how many years! I believe that the first time i saw him was when he was performing with Vox Pop at Madame Wong's in Chinatown for which he was sporting his massive afro, a pair of speedos and that was about it! I know that I saw him here & there, but didn't really get to know him until he started doing the Jeff Dahl Band in Hollywood in the 80's. It was a great band and he went through a number of different members, but it was always a blast seeing him play and my bands Thee Fourgiven and The Tommyknockers got to do a few gigs with him. He moved to Phoenix, but we always kept in touch (I worked with him on Lisa Lombardo's record) and I always said that we should play together sometime. Since relocating to Phoenix, he's had a number of lineups, and would often use locals of the city that he's playing in. So, when he was planning some shows in LA, we finally hooked up, along with ex-Powertrip bassist John Duffy and ex-Chemical People Dave Nazworthy on drums. We must've played off & on for about a year whenever he would come to LA and a couple times in Phoenix. When he decided to do an American tour, he put together a band with people who could travel with him, and thats his new LA lineup now. We never did record together, but we did a bunch of totally fun shows! Maybe someday we'll do something together again!
