The Thessalonians were among the greatest examples of believers who stood strong together as a household. Today, we strive to be like them by standing not as individuals, but as a collective force moving and prevailing with God's Word.
The music for "Together" started in kind of a similar manner. Jacob and I were just playing around on the keyboard, when he came up with this good sounding riff. He played it over and over, and I started to add a couple of bass lines to the mix. Much later, after I had made a good track for it, I came up with the lyrics.
"The Fight For Eternity" was the lyrics that Jake had given to me a couple of months after I had finished "Bound To Succeed" for Joe. Although Jake didn't give me a genre to base it on, I had been hooked into watching a lot of VH1 specials involving 80's pop music, and I used that to make the track for this.
The lyrics speak of the endurance that we go through as we walk for God and wait for the eternal rewards that have been promised to us. Despite the fiery darts that are thrown at us and temptations that may come, we know that we have our rightful share of the inheritance that God has given us.
