| How He Loves You Child of God Notes Page "How He Loves You Child of God" takes the love and believing that we have for one another (see "I'll Pray For You" notes) to another level, this time in a dating or marriage situation. The song also speaks of the tremendous and unyielding love that God has for us. The song is based on the stylings of Isaac Hayes and Barry White, but unfortunately, I don't have that deep of a voice (so, as my dad says, I sound more like Freddie Mercury of Queen. Yikes!) The love and believing between a couple is juxtaposed with the love of God for each person. You can't really compare the love of a man for a woman and the love that God has for that woman. God has loved us so much that he even gave His only begotten Son so that we would have an everlasting life (John 3:16). Isaiah 49:16 says that God has loved us enough to engrave, or tattoo, us in the palms of His hands, which would be an extremely sensitive area, much more painful than an arm or back tattoo. Whereas a man may etch his love onto a tree, God has engraven us on stone so that we may abide in His love forever. That is how much He loves us. We are His children, and he will watch over us, protect us, and give us the strength that we need to endure. |
