Forty-Five Minutes from Broadway
This George Cohen mini-musical turned the clock back to the 1930 story of a Broadway director, Dick Foster, who is trying to find an angel to save his upcoming production.  Foster is counting on the hottest Broadway star in town, Mona Monroe, to star in his production.  He feels he will be able to produce a winning production with her in the leading role.

When Mary Collins finds herself 45 minutes from her home in New Rochelle, she finds Foster to ask for a part in his production.  Foster explains that there just isn't an extra part for her.  However, while he is doing this, Suzie, a chorus girl, is injured and put in the hospital, leaving vacant a chorus position.  Foster offers the position to Mary who is more than excited to take it.  But when Suzie recovers and returns to the production, Foster again tells Mary there is not a part for her.  As casting is finalized, there is still no one in the leading role.  When Mona finally arrives to meet with Foster, she quickly dismisses herself becasue of the lack of money offered.

After Foster had earlier dismissed Mary, he again offers her the lead role and she eagerly accepts.  In the meantime, a large sum of money is donated to the production by a mysterious angel who later turns out to be Legs Ruby, the mobster who has been hiding out in the theater because his girlfriend Trixie is a chorus girl.  With their money woes over, the cast is able to relax and put on an outstanding production.
