To become a Thespian, you must have been in either 2 full length plays or 1 full length play and a year of chorus.

In February, Thespians travel to Jackson to participate in the International Thespian Society Conference.  Last years Thespian Conference was very informative, exciting, and fun.  Elizabeth Wilson, Sarah Childers, and Danielle Adams competed in the Musical Theater competition.  Elizabeth rated three superiors and traveled to Nebraska this summer.  Danielle and Sarah both rated well with both superiors and excellents.  This year we plan to have many more representatives at ITS.

ITS has competitions in Monologue, Musical Theater, Duet Musical Theater, and Dualogues, as well as Costume and Set Design, and other "backstage" aspects of drama.  While in Jackson, we attended workshops, one of which was with Ed Linderman, a Broadway director and performer who had performed in
Fiddler on the Roof over 750 times.  Also, there was a Sock Hop, or a dance similar to one that might have been held in the '50s, because the theme last year was, "ITS Rocks My Socks".

It truly was great fun, and I am looking forward to going back this year with many more students participating!
