Hello, Sir (Tex), My name is Jeff Thevenin. Despite the circumstances of our
meeting, I was glad to have met you and never forgot the advice you had
given me. Since then, your words of wisdom have stayed with me and were
part of a bunch of events that have changed my life for the better.
I graduated from The University of Miami with a major in English Literature and a
minior in Psychology. The week after graduation I took a job as a private
contractor/ free lance writer to write a booklet for a high school diploma program
based here in Florida. I wrote a 300 page booklet explaining the basics of the
following subjects: Math/ Pre-algebra, Science, Early American History, Grammar
and Sentence Structure, and Leadership and Career Development. Each subject is
explained in detail and there is a test at the end of every lesson. The school is using
the booklet to teach its students enrolled in the program. I am the main author and
receive a check every month from a portion of the profit of my book. I also tutor
students who need extra help with the material on the weekends. I applied for a job
as a recruiter at a Caribbean Medical School called AUC (American University of
the Caribbean) based in St. Maarten. I got the job due to my experience working in
schools as a student assistant for years and the work I did for American Highschool
Academy. I've been working with the company for eight months now. I spend a
great deal of time traveling to different universities attending graduate fairs, open
houses, and doing presentations about our program. I've been assigned four main
ststes to produce applicants from: Ohio, Florida, Texas, and Georgia. Life is good.
I just wanted to tell you how much your words stayed with me. And I bet you
thought I wasn't listening. All the things you said were right. I do have a
higher level of responsibility now that has changed the way I think and the
people I associate with.
I apologize for not getting in touch with you sooner, but I lost your card. I finally got
a hold of my childhood bestfriend Jennifer who gave me your email. So, I wanted
to write to you and let you know how things are going with me. Also, I've been
accepted to (CAU) Carlos Albizo University in Miami to start their Master School
Psychology program. I hear they were originally founded in Puerto Rico. Have you
heard of the school before? I hear they have a great psychology program.
But I'm still looking around. With work and travel its hard for me to start now but I
plan to start at least part time next summer. I truely love psychology, and
think I am doing things that pertain to my area of study. I enjoy working with
students and love the school atmosphere. I've been a student all my life and wish to
continue. I want to be able to open up my own school in the future and know how
to run all major operations within it. I would also like to keep in touch with you more
