NEW POEMS:

I am nothing
You say I’m something
You are wrong
Alienated in youth
Alone in adulthood
No motivation,
No reason to do better
I only cause pain
I will not change
Because I am nothing.
Accept it
You are more than I will ever be.

Black Cats

 Walking down the hallway
   Early one Halloween
   Out of the shadows
A black cat crosses my path

Should I tempt fate?
Should I continue on my way?
   Perhaps I would another day
   But not this spooky morn

Turning around in a haste,
Just to see another black cat
   Coming my way
Its eyes glowing in the dark

Both are near now
No choice is left for me
   I drop to my knees
   And stretch out my arms

They open their mouths
   And gently lick my fingers
   With no malice, only love
My dearest friends, my lovely pets.

Dragon Hunt

Its eyes of fire flicker around
   Searching out its tender prey
Weaving between swollen black clouds
Its scales shimmering in the failing light

The storm approaches quickly
   The distant thunder rumbles loudly
Echoed intensely by the sound
   Of his nearly empty stomach

The clouds open up
   Unleashing their long held deluge
There, his eyes have spied his meal
   Dodging from tree to tree

He plummets from the sky
   His jaws gaping, eyes locked
As his fangs sink into flesh
   Lightening illuminates the fresh kill

His appetite is satisfied
   His scales are cleansed
The dragon leaps back into the sky
His home left unguarded too long.

Umbrella

Pouring rain, late at night
We are going to get drenched
Quick, duck under that roof
What’s that lying on the bench?
An umbrella, what luck!

You always seem to bring luck
Which, by the way,
Is the reason we met
What seems like ages ago

In the time since
I have grown to call you friend
And now it’s your birthday again

For you, I wish there is always
An umbrella of luck nearby

To keep you safe and dry.

PUBLISHED POEMS:

These are poems that I have had published.

A Question of Love
Were we meant to meet,
  Or was it just chance
  That we should become friends,
That I should fall in love?

At first you didn't seem right.
But the more I saw you,
The more I got to know you,
I realized how perfect you are.

Now you have found another,
And though my heart is breaking,
  I still consider myself lucky
To have known you and call you friend.

You are my perfect love,
Yet I can never have you.
So is it better for you
  That this you never know.

Unmerciful
Time

Unmerciful Time,
What have we done to spite thee?
You are running out on us
Much too quickly.

Unmerciful Time
What have we done to scare thee
Thus hastening your exodus
To the bleak future.

Unmerciful Time,
What have I done to thee
To make you want to leave me
So quick and painfully?

Song of the Sage Wolf

The mystical howl of the wolf
  mournfully serenading the honey moon
Telling it's story
  not to be understood
For it is not meant for man
  or other interlopers

It is a story
  meant only for the moon
The celestial body
  which offers silent solace
To all that ask
  to all who listen

Is it a tale of pain
  or of hunger or loss
Only the honey moon
  and the sage wolf know
For it is their story
  theirs alone

OLD UNPUBLISHED POEMS:

Lovely Lad

Lovely lady
   radiating life
      turning the others
         green with jealousy

I long to see your beauty
   to hear your sensual voice
to feel your body against mine
         in a loving embrace

I yearn to be with you
   now and forever more
to never again know the sadness
         that comes without you

The Flight of the Dragon

Awakened from his eternal slumber
by the emergence of the one thing
Without which his might treasure
   would be for not

Emerging from his forbidden cave
the dragon of light takes flight
To embark on his tireless search
for the one for which he awoke

Spewing fire from his heart
radiating light from his glowing scales
He will continue searching
   until she is his forever.

My Love

I talk to her all I can
I think of her every free moment
I love her more than I love me

She is beautiful
she is free
She left me

We still talk
We still laugh
We cannot be

I remember her
She remembers me
We have forgotten us

She is my friend
She is my love
She is my life

She is my one and only
Reason to go on

The Day After

I am so sad
   You yelled at me
I deserved it
   But it still hurts
I don't know what to do
   I can't think
All I want is you
All I need is your love
I miss your laugh
   Please talk to me again.

A Friendship Born

The first time I saw you
you were looking at the board
trying to find the right room.

I remember thinking to myself
   that you were very beautiful
and that I would never talk to you.

That is how I am with people I like
I am afraid to talk to them
afraid that I'll scare them away.

Then as luck would have it
   we had two classes together
all the more time to torture myself.

I remember the first time we talked
was the first day of Macroeconomics
you wanted to know how the teacher was.

Many times I saw you after
Yet I couldn't talk to you
   Like many others did.

Then one day you brought you boyfriend
and decided to sit by me
   and talk about Seven Ideas

That's the only good thing
   to come from that class
it broke the ice between us.

We've become friends since then
   and now I can't imagine
   life without knowing you.

Spiteful Li
fe

Spiteful life
Always teasing me
Offering a little happiness
Only to crush it a moment later.

Why me
I cry
Why dost thou spite me
In every conceivable way?

Soon I receive a minute of relief
Time spent with friends perhaps
The next moment
My enemies take over.

Spiteful life
Always teasing me
Why dost thou toy with me?
Why can't you let me go?

Soon I think I'm in luck
I have found a place to be free
Ha Ha says life
You have entered a prison.

I have found a path of escape
Through life's opposite
Yet I will not run
I will stand an master life itself!

Never Agai
n!

Never again I say
   one more chance I wish
I don't need you
   I am nothing without you
I hate you
   I love you
I am better off
   I am so hurt
There are better people
you're the only one for me
I can do this
   not without you
Never again!
   come back to me
