| We beat SCC by 7 wickets last Sunday. Thankfully, the rain held up. SCC prepared the pitch, won the task and batted first at our home at George Bush Park. They made 41 (batting 3 short). Paul with 3 wickets, Errol with 3 wickets and Jhagroo with 1 did the damage in about 11 overs. HWI replied with 45 for 3 in 6 overs. | We beat MCC II at Tom Bass Park today. We batted first and got off to a quick start. However, we lost 4 wickets before the break and lost four more fairly quickly. However, the last 2 pairs added 65 runs to get the scores up to 195. Errol 64, Noel 43 and Paul 17 led the scorers. When MCC II batted, they got off to a solid start to be easily set at 80 without loss at the break. However a more purposeful approach and fine bowling by Scotty, reduced them to 142 for 7 at the last break. On resumption we got two quick wickets and they held up for the inevitable succumbing for 175 to lose by 20 runs. Scotty got 5 for 29, Paul 2 for 24 and Deen 2 for 39. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| We beat
the Pacers at Tom Bass Park last weekend in a match featuring the appearance
of Omari Banks, West Indies all-rounder. Omari fitted in very well, is a
very easy going guy, and easy to play with.
The Pacers won the toss and batted. Though we made early inroads, and kept them below target in the first fifteen overs, they goy 140 in the last 25 to get to 200 for 9 in their allotted 40 overs. Becky got 3 wickets, Bagga 3 wickets and Omari 2 wickets. HWI knocked off the runs in 28 overs. Jhagroo fell short of a hundred in making 96 and Omari made 29. We ended at 202 for 4. We now have 8 victories, 1 loss and one rain out in 10 games.
We are off this coming weekend. We will practice
Friday (with Omari, we need to keep him tuned) at CICC grounds. We next
play MCCII at MCC on August 03. MCCI is off so I expect that some MCC
I players will play for MCCII. We then play NHC on August 10 at home. |
