| I'm tempted to go on a rant and ramble about this, but to be honest, it's wouldn't improve the game any, so I'll refrain. There's a whole pile information out there about Russia, the Empire, the Revolutions, and the Republic. But for a White Wolf game, there ware a few quick-and-dirty sources of good worth. Obviously, Wikipedia had a whole host of info on the subject. That's where a lot of info for these pages came from, as well as off various museum websites. As for White Wolf publications, the only one I know of is the Werewolf supplement Rage Across Russia. It may be hard to find, but is really worth the cost. Mine is Rage Across the World, Volume 1, which combined the Russia book with Caerns:Places of Power. Outstanding buy and a little easier to find. Regarding the Ipatiev House; I didn't make it up. It really happened the way the Yurovsky report says, and all of those involved had different versions. Even today, nobody can agree on what really happened, except the entire thing was a huge fiasco from beginning to end. Regarding Anastasia, I've looked at all the evidence back and forth, and I believe that the infamous Anna Anderson was the real Anastasia. Too much evidence says so. The DNA testing was the old 6-point test, and that test has since been proven so unreliable that convicted felons are released just because this test was the primary means of their conviction. It's really that unreliable. A word about Rage Across Russia to all ambitions ST's; don't send your players there unless they are really REALLY powerful or you just want to kill them off. I've sent three Garou packs to Russia, and only one survived because they were all rank-4 and higher before they went, carried lots of firepower, and were really good at thinking on their feet. In the end, one of them committed suicide because he was permanently immobilized by so many battle scars. This was the lucky pack. The other two just plain died quick and horrible. Seriously. The Amazon is child's play compared to Russia. You've been warned. |
